Where is Jilong Mountain?
Jilong Mountain was once a royal garden and a sacred place of Buddhism during the Six Dynasties, and it was also a gathering place for scientists and historians. During the Liu and Song Dynasties, the first solar observatory was set up at the top of the mountain, which not only observed the sky, but also measured the weather. At the foot of the mountain, a history museum and a literature museum were established. At that time, famous literary historians and philosophers from all over the country often gathered here to write books, give lectures and teach students, which was called the national academic and cultural center.
During the Liang Xiao period, Tongtai Temple was built on Jilong Mountain. The story that Liang Wudi devoted himself to the Buddhist temple four times, and ministers spared no expense to redeem him happened here. The devout Buddhist finally starved to death in Taicheng during the post-Beijing rebellion. Chen Houzhu, the last emperor of the Southern Dynasties, built a temple in Jilong Mountain, with fragrant wood as beams and doors. The breeze blew and the fragrance floated for miles. He and his favorite concubines, Zhang Lihua and Kong, play in the palace or garden all day. In 589 AD, when he entered the city, there was nowhere to escape, so he had to hide in the well with Zhang and Kong's concubines and was captured by Sui Jun. When the three men climbed out of the well, they were all dripping with powder and covered with mine fields. Wipe it with silk, and its stone has rouge marks, so the well is named "Rouge Well", also known as "Shame Well". In the poem "Rouge Well", Chen Fu, a poet of the Yuan Dynasty, wrote: "Tears are dripping through the moss, looking back at the sunset in the palace. Regardless of the mountains and rivers in Wan Li, only one well belongs to the king. " The meaning of sadness is beyond words. Seeing that Zhang Lihua was gorgeous, General Sui was afraid that the expulsion would disturb the king's heart, so he immediately drew his sword and beheaded her. This is what the later poems accused of "not beheading the king, beheading the beauty".
1387, the magic weapon temple in the Song and Yuan Dynasties was repaired on the site filled by the original Tongtai Temple. Since the name of the mountain was changed to Jiming Mountain, the name of the temple was also changed to "Jiming Temple", which has been used ever since.
In the 24th year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1685), Emperor Kangxi climbed Jilong Mountain and stood on the observation deck overlooking Xuanwu Lake. He wrote down the word "Kuang Guan" with ease and joy. This winter, officials such as Governor Wang of Liangjiang River and Governor Xue Zhudou of Anhui Province built the Arctic Pavilion and Imperial Monument Pavilion on Xifeng to commemorate Kangxi's coming here, and set up a monument "Kuangguan Monument" to record Kangxi's parade. From then on, Xifeng was called Arctic Pavilion, and Dongfeng was called Jiming Temple.
