Iron chopsticks are perennial evergreen herbs of Ranunculaceae, also known as black hairy seven or primrose. The flowers of iron chopsticks are pink, the petals are round and smooth, and they will turn green in May. There are yellow stamens and filaments in the petals, which usually bloom in April. The flowering period is spring in the winter of the following year.
The height of iron chopsticks is between 0.3 and 0.5 meters, with straight stems and branches at the top. The petiole is long, the leaves are pentagonal or oblong, the color is bright green or dark green, and the edge has fine teeth. The leaves are evergreen all year round and beautiful. The seeds of iron chopsticks are small, flat, oval and smooth, and the fruiting period is around May.
Iron chopsticks like yin and wet, suitable for growing in a semi-cool, humid and ventilated environment. Plants mostly grow in wet woodlands or bushes, mainly distributed in China, northwestern Sichuan, southern Gansu and northwestern Hubei. Plant propagation methods include sowing propagation, ramet propagation and static tissue culture, but ramet propagation is the most commonly used.
Iron chopsticks should be properly watered and fertilized during maintenance. Plants like to be wet, so they should always keep the basin soil wet during the growth process and keep it dry in winter. Iron chopsticks are not particularly demanding on fertility. Generally, compound fertilizer is applied once after germination, after flowering and before winter comes.
