There are many sects within the church, and they have different names due to different distribution standards. According to the theory, there are five categories: Jishan Sect, Classic Sect (Miaozhen Tao), Fulu Sect, Danding Sect (Jindan Sect), and Zhanxuan Sect (Feng Shui, Astrology). Historically, there are five major sects: the Zhengyi Sect (the founder is Zhang Daoling), the Quanzhen South Sect (the founder is Zhang Boduan), the Quanzhen North Sect (the founder is Wang Chongyang), the Zhen Dazong (the founder is Zhang Qingzhi), and the Taiyi Sect (the founder is Huang Dongyi). There are 7 major sects that are more influential in the history of Taoism: Zhengyiyi: The following are divided into Lingbao sect, Tianshi Taoism, Gezao sect, Lushan sect, Liuren, etc. Its Taoist priests can practice at home, do not abstain from eating meat and fish, and can get married and have children. Its Taoist temple is generally called the "Zisun Temple". Quanzhen Taoism: originated from the inner alchemy thought of Zhong Liquan and Lu Dongbin, and can be divided into Southern Sect and Northern Sect. There are many sects, such as Longmen sect, Yuxian sect, Jingming sect, Nanwu sect, Suishan sect, Yushan sect, Huashan sect, Qingjing sect, etc. True Taoism: Founded during the Jin Dynasty and gradually declined after the Yuan Dynasty. Taidao: Founded by Xiao Baozhen from Weizhou (now Qi County, Henan) during the Jin Dynasty, it gradually declined after the end of the Yuan Dynasty. Its religion mainly worships "Taiyi God". Jingming Taoism: Founded in the Southern Song Dynasty. After the Ming Dynasty, the sect gradually became part of the Zhengdao sect. Shangqing Sect and its branch Maoshan Sect Wudang Sect: Founded by Zhang Sanfeng in the Ming Dynasty in Wudang Mountain, Jun County, Hubei Province. It is dedicated to Emperor Zhenwu as the main god. After the Ming Dynasty, Taoism was mainly divided into two major sects: Zhengyi Tao and Quanzhen Tao. Except for the Yin Sect and Miao Zhen Tao, all other sects were classified under these two sects. The Baiyun Temple in Beijing now has the "General Book of All Zhen Sects", which lists eighty-seven Taoist sects' genealogies.
