Introduction to Zhenjiang Pavilion

The original Zhenjiang Pavilion was small in scale and made of brick structure. It no longer exists and was later renamed "Yangsi Temple". Who is worshiped in Yangsi Temple is not recorded in the chronicles. The legendary General Yang Si was a water god who occupied a position in the Five Saints Palace. According to "Yichang Prefecture Chronicles", Yangsi Temple is under the Xiaonan Gate (formerly known as Wenchang Gate), not under the Zhenchuan Gate. The "Donghu County Chronicle" also records clearly: "The Zhenjiang Prince Pavilion was under the Xise Gate (now Zhenchuan Gate) and was rebuilt in the 49th year of Kangxi (1710 AD)."
