When will orchids bloom?

There are many kinds of orchids, and the flowering time of different kinds is different. For example, Chunlan 1-3 blooms; 1February to February is the flowering period of cymbidium; Cymbidium hybridum blooms in May 5- 10/0; Whelan blooms from March to May. In addition, the specific flowering time is also related to the region, and their flowering time will be slightly different with the climate.

1. What factors are related to flowering period?

First of all, there are many varieties of orchids. Different varieties have different flowering seasons. In addition, different species sometimes have very different flowering seasons. In addition, it is also related to specific areas. Even the same species has different flowering seasons in different regions and climatic conditions. However, compared with varieties, the influence of this factor is not particularly great, so the difference before and after flowering is not so great.

2. Effects of different varieties on flowering.

There are many kinds of orchids, so I can't list them one by one here. I'll just say a few representative ones. If it is Whelan, it will bloom in March and May, that is, in spring. If it is a cymbidium, it will bloom in May 5- 10/0, and the flowering period is very long, spanning several seasons. If it is cold orchid, 1 1 month to the next year 1 month; Moran is from December to February. The flowering period of these two varieties is concentrated in winter. In addition, even a variety can be divided into several small varieties, and the flowering season will be different.

3. The influence of region on flowering.

In different areas, there will be differences before and after flowering of the same variety, but it is not particularly obvious. Generally speaking, flowers bloom earlier in the south than in the north.

Matters needing attention in orchid planting:

I. Soil

The most important principle is that the cultivation substrate should be loose and fertile, with good drainage and water permeability. If the fertilizer is insufficient, it can be supplemented by later fertilization, but it must be transparent and not too delicate.

Second, light.

Orchids need a semi-shady environment to grow, and they can't see direct sunlight, otherwise the leaves will burn.

Third, humidity.

Orchids need high air humidity when they are maintained. If the humidity is too low, the leaves will have dry tips and scorched edges, which will cause some leaf diseases.

Fourth, fertilizer.

Orchids need thinner fertilizer and don't like thick fertilizer. When applying Trim foliar fertilizer, they must often apply thin fertilizer.

Verb (short for verb) temperature

Orchids generally like cold, do not like high temperature, do not like cold. Usually above 5 degrees to below 25 degrees, it will grow healthier in this temperature environment.
