Where is Liu Bei’s mausoleum? How did the government dig out an ancient tomb during road construction cause an uproar?
Because history is not very clear, there is no clear record of where Liu Bei’s grave is. When the government was building roads, they discovered that this cemetery contained many very important and precious gold and silver treasures. The value is immeasurable. According to the speculation of archaeologists, these were all objects from the Three Kingdoms period. Therefore, they speculated that this cemetery is probably the cemetery of Liu Bei that has not been excavated so far. Therefore, it caused an uproar in the inversion world.
According to the Records of the Three Kingdoms, when Liu Bei died of illness in Baidi City, Zhuge Liang dragged his coffin back to Chengdu. Therefore, many scholars now believe that Liu Bei's real purpose is at the Wuhou Temple in the South Gate of Chengdu, Sichuan Province. But because Wuhou Temple is a rare temple used by monarchs and ministers in history. So the credibility is not very high.
It is recorded in "Historical Records". After Liu Bei's initial attack on Wu was defeated, he retreated to Baidi City with his seriously ill body. He died soon after. However, since it was still an era of war, Zhuge Liang could only support Liu Bei's coffin and bring it back to Chengdu. Therefore, people think that Liu Bei's goal should be on the west side of the main hall of Wuhou Temple in the southern suburbs of Chengdu. That place was called Huiling in history because there was such a passage in the "Historical Records". In May, Zi Palace was returned to Chengdu and in August, he was buried in Huiling.
But when the tomb robbers later fought against Huiling, they did not find the real Liu Bei tomb. No valuable or precious objects were found. Therefore, some experts speculate that Liu Bei did not rest here at all. Huiling Cemetery may be just a burial mound. But Liu Bei's real cemetery is far away in an unknown place. Now the government's unintentional move has coincidentally discovered that this cemetery contains many precious objects used by the Shu Kingdom during the Three Kingdoms period. Therefore, from this aspect, this is the real Liu Bei cemetery in the legend.
