Xinrong Town belonged to the State of Chu during the Warring States Period. The pre-Qin period belonged to Baiyue. During the Southern and Northern Dynasties, the Southern Dynasties belonged to Song, Qi and Liang, and later to Chen Di. The Sui Dynasty belonged to Yangzhou. The Tang Dynasty belonged to Lingnan Road. In the Yuan Dynasty, it belonged to Yulin.
