The biggest difference between these understandings is that the "wind" in "wind is the root of all diseases" refers to the external wind evil caused by the six evils. Exogenous wind mainly refers to the wind evil caused by the six evils caused by external factors. It is caused by abnormal climate changes in the four seasons and excessive or insufficient wind. Wind is originally the main qi of spring, but it can be seen in all four seasons. If the wind qi of the four seasons is too much or not enough, or if it is present at the wrong time, it can invade the body and cause exogenous diseases. Exogenous wind causes a wide range of diseases. It can damage the muscle surface and meridians externally, and it can damage the intestines, muscles and joints internally. Internal wind is the main cause of internal injuries and miscellaneous diseases.
Internal wind is different from external wind. It does not belong to the category of six evils. Internal wind has two meanings: First, internal wind refers to the internal movement of wind, which belongs to the "five endogenous evils". It is a concept of pathogenesis. It mainly refers to the pathological state of imbalance of yin and yang qi and blood in the internal organs and hyperactive yang qi. It usually includes four types: liver yang transforming into wind, extreme heat generating wind, yin deficiency causing wind, and blood deficiency generating wind. In addition, accumulation of pathological products such as blood stasis, phlegm, and turbidity over time can also block Qi movement, leading to poor circulation of Yang Qi, excessive changes, and internal wind. The second refers to the name of the specific disease syndrome. Ye Tianshi said in "Clinical Guide to Medical Records" that "internal wind is the change of Yang Qi in the body." In the human body, the five internal organs and six internal organs all have Yang Qi that is constantly biochemically running, and any overactive Yang Qi in the five internal organs and six internal organs can be transformed. Internal wind is generated, so "Suwen Wind Theory" has records of heart wind, liver wind, spleen wind, lung wind, kidney wind, stomach wind and other disease names.

High fever, coma and restlessness, twitching of hands and feet, and fever are often seen. For convulsions and other symptoms, Lingjiao Uncaria Decoction can be used to cool the liver and relieve wind, increase fluids and relax muscles.
Yin deficiency, wind movement and evil heat are consumed for a long time, true yin is gradually depleted, the muscles and veins are lost in nourishment, and the deficient wind arises, and the hands and feet are squirming, the pulse is weak, the body is emaciated, and the five palpitations are hot. For symptoms such as cheek redness and night sweats, choose Dadingfengzhu or Fumai Decoction to nourish yin and calm wind.
Blood deficiency caused by wind and prolonged illness, or acute or chronic blood loss, deficiency of nutrients and blood, loss of nourishment of muscles and arteries, lack of blood circulation, common dizziness, pale face, numbness of limbs, twitching of muscles, and even spasm of hands and feet. Symptoms such as non-stretching, itchy skin, and dull claws and nails can be treated with Siwu Decoction to nourish blood and expel wind.
Blood stasis and phlegm causing wind are rarely mentioned clinically, but they do exist. Wang Qingren's "Yi Lin Gai Cuo" said: "Hemiplegia caused by stroke and numbness in one side of the body are caused by Qi deficiency and blood stasis." It said that blood stasis causes stroke. Yang Renzhai pointed out that "if blood stasis is not enough, dizziness can occur." Blood stasis can also cause dizziness.
