The history of Qingyang Village
The ancient village of Qingyang has a long history, with human activities as early as the Neolithic period. Many pottery with Shang and Zhou patterns were unearthed from the Huangnigang site. According to historical records: Mao Chu, the grandson of Mao Bao, the first ancestor of the Mao family in Jiangnan (the third generation ancestor), due to his contribution to pacifying Hengxuan, the imperial court named him the Duke of Return to Hometown, and he lived in Xin'an (today's Quzhou). Mao Yuanqiong (the eighth generation ancestor), a descendant of Mao Yu, was named Gongyuan and named Qingyang. He moved from Quzhou to Qingyang, Xujiang during the Datong reign of Emperor Wu of Liang Dynasty (535-544 AD). Qingyang was named after Qingyang Gong. There are thirteen ancestral halls for the descendants of Yanggong of the Qing Dynasty living in Jiangshan, distributed in various towns and villages, with a population of more than 50,000. They have moved to Yunnan, Jiangxi, Hunan, Fujian, Anhui and other provinces, as well as Fenghua, Longquan, Suichang, Lishui and Yuyao in Zhejiang Province. Such places have countless populations. The history of Qingyang Village can be traced back to the first year of Datong (AD 535) of Emperor Wu of the Liang Dynasty. The founder Mao Yuanqiong moved from Quzhou to Qingyang Village and multiplied here. During the nearly 1,600 years of history, the Qingyang Mao family cultivated, studied and passed down the family tradition. The gathering of humanities produced 8 ministers, 83 Jinshi and many famous figures. For example, Mao Huang and Mao Juzheng, the father and son of the two ministers of the Ministry of Rites and the Ministry of Household, who were also phonologists in the Song Dynasty; Mao Pang, a famous poet in the Northern Song Dynasty who was educated by the "Three Sus"; Mao Zizhi, the first number one scholar in the Southern Song Dynasty during the Kaiju Year ; Mao Kai, the Minister of Rites, Officials, and Punishments in the Ming Dynasty, and Mao Zishui, the master of modern Chinese studies, etc. "Yongle Dadian", "Sikuquanshu" and other classics contain many works by famous people in Qingyang in the past dynasties. The literati who visited Qingyang and left poems are also as bright as stars. There is a saying that Qingyang Mao family benefited from the "Feng Shui" here. Zuo Qinglong, You Baihu, Qian Zhuque, and Hou Xuanwu are all included. There are also "Wenfeng Pagoda" and "Millennium Ancient Road", which can be called a "Feng Shui treasure place" "The founder of the Mao family really put a lot of effort into choosing Qingyang.
