Along the border and around the northeast, I found that I don't know the northeast more and more.

This is a travel note written in 218, traveling around the northeast border.

I finally came back.

for more than a month, I started from Qiqihar and passed through Daur Autonomous Banner, Jiagedaqi Autonomous Banner, Oroqen Autonomous Banner, Heihe, Jiayin, Suibin, Tongjiang, Jiejinkou, Fuyuan, Raohe, Hutou, Hulin, Mishan, Xingkai Lake, Suifenhe, Dongning, Hunchun, Fangchuan and Tutu.

then, due to the hot weather, the temperature reached 39 degrees, and the skin faded from the sun. I couldn't bear it, so I ended my trip ahead of schedule.

This time, I walked along the northern and eastern borders, and with the previous journey from Chifeng to Mohe through Daxing 'anling and the old industrial city of Liaoning, I have roughly circled the northeast along the border between China, Russia, China, North Korea and Mongolia.

I thought I had a deep understanding of the Northeast, but every time I go out, I still encounter many things that subvert my cognition. The more I walk, the less I know the Northeast.

Northeast China is really a very rich land. There are grasslands, forests, cultivated land, wetlands, even sand and deserts, mountains, rivers, seas and even great lakes (a small part of Xingkai Lake). The natural ecology is rich and diverse, agriculture and animal husbandry are developed, and there are energy, mineral resources and abundant hydropower resources. In fact, as the center of Northeast Asia, many neighboring countries and nationalities have coveted it.

Xingkai Lake

Starting from the northernmost Mohe River in China, along Heilongjiang, all the way through Heihe River, Jiayin River, Tongjiang River, Fuyuan River, Raohe River and Mishan River to Suifenhe River, if a geographically blind person with no sense of direction is allowed to overlook the cities on both sides of the Sino-Russian border in the air, he will certainly not be able to tell which side is China and which side is Russia. Sometimes China is even more Russian than Russia.

This is Russia

This is Heihe

In Manzhouli, Heihe, Fuyuan, Suifenhe and Hunchun, Russian tourists can be seen everywhere on the streets, especially Suifenhe. The density of Russians in the downtown business district is even higher than that of China. Locals say that it is still less now. When Russia's economy was at its best in 2, Russians were "quacking" all over the streets.

Suifenhe

Walking on the Sino-Russian border, you can clearly feel the strong Russian culture. The ubiquitous Russian-style buildings and Russian signboards always remind Russia of its existence.

From Suifenhe to Hunchun, it is not only Russia that has a sense of existence, but also Korean culture. The signs of shops on the street have changed from bilingual Chinese to trilingual Chinese, Korean and Russian, and the buildings are no longer single Russian. There are also traditional Korean buildings, which have entered the border between China and North Korea since Hunchun.

Hunchun

Although it is the border between China and North Korea, the influence of South Korea can be seen everywhere. In cities and villages in Yanbian Prefecture, you can often see companies and advertisements that provide Korean work visas and consultation.

Kaishantun, a border town between China and North Korea in Yanbian Prefecture

Yanji, the capital of Yanbian Prefecture, is called "Little Seoul", with a prosperous economy and high prices, because a large number of Koreans go to Korea to earn money and come back for consumption, which has created Yanji's economic miracle and pushed up local prices.

After crossing Changbai Mountain to Dandong, North Korea began to really show its strength. Just because of the news of North Korea's opening up, Dandong has been troubled. In addition to the China-North Korea Free Trade Zone, a large number of new buildings have been built in Dandong's development zone. In order to meet North Korea's reform and opening up, Dandong has invested a lot of money, but I just don't know if North Korea's words count.

the testimony of Dandong's brilliant economy-Moon Bay

Dandong was called Anton when it was occupied by Manchukuo, and there are still many buildings in the Japanese-puppet period. Not only in Dandong, but also in the northeast, there are various military and civilian facilities built by Japan. Today, Japan's influence is gone, and only historical remains occasionally show the sense of existence.

From Dandong to the south is the coastline of Liaoning, and Dalian is located on the antenna of the coastline. If we want to talk about the influence of contemporary Japan on Northeast China, it may be in Dalian. It is said that there are many Japanese people in Dalian, and there are Japanese on the subway.

Dalian

from Liaoning to Chifeng in eastern Mongolia, entered the Mongolian stronghold. It is a common sight here that white clouds are floating in the blue sky, the wind blows grass and cattle and sheep are low, and men who harness horses are running around.

The signs of shops in Chifeng

have become bilingual in Mongolian and Chinese. Breakfast shops sell milk tea, which is salty, and there are more shops selling beef and mutton. Many buildings on the street have a yurt on their heads.

In fact, most of the Mongolians in China are in the northeast, including Mengdong and Heijiliao, and the number of Mongolians in Heijiliao is even higher than that in the west of Bi Meng.

Because the border trade between China and Mongolia is underdeveloped and the population is sparsely populated, there are not many cities and the roads are still very poor. I can only walk along the inner circle and along journey to the south in Daxing 'anling.

After passing Chifeng, Tongliao and Xing 'an League, we arrived in Manzhouli, Hulunbeier, a small town on the border between China, Mongolia and Russia. Like Hunchun, the signs of street shops are trilingual, but they are replaced by China, Mongolia and Russia.

Manzhouli

turned around and returned to the Sino-Russian border.

after this circle, I really understood the concept of "Northeast Asia" and the geopolitics of Northeast Asia.

Russian culture, traditional Korean culture, modern Korean culture, Japanese culture left over from wartime, Mongolian culture, Chinese culture in the Central Plains and local national culture are intricately blended together, forming today's "Northeast".

This is really different from the Northeast I know. Even if I am in it, I can't understand it more and more.

I took the initiative to learn about ethnic minorities in Northeast China for the first time. I walked along the Wusuli River for the first time, I saw Xingkai Lake like the sea for the first time, I saw Tianchi at the top of Changbai Mountain for the first time, I learned about the secretive trading situation on the border between China and North Korea for the first time, I saw the blue sea water in Northeast China for the first time, and I arrived at the most remote island in Northeast China for the first time. I know that there will be many breakthroughs in my cognition for the first time.

I thought I would just pat the scenery in the northeast and publicize the tourism, and I would move to other places, but there was always a voice calling to me from the bottom of my heart, saying, "Come back soon, come back soon, there are more things to explore here."

after that, I will present the experiences and beautiful pictures of this trip in detail, and I believe I will definitely break through your understanding of Northeast China.

if you see the end, remember to pay attention to me.
