Bird watching in Honghu Park: Know the little lovebirds around you.
However, apart from online celebrities, do you know anything about the nature here? Do you know which small animals live here? To tell the truth, as an old neighbor of Honghu Lake, I have walked through Honghu Park alone or with my children countless times in the past ten years, and I will only marvel at the birds flying on the lake: Look, Bai Niao! As for who they are, they really lack understanding.
Fortunately, I participated in the bird watching activities organized by birds, animals and insects this weekend, which gave me the opportunity to approach the "Wetland Flyer" in Honghu Park with my children. Love and be close to nature, as long as you want to start, it's never too late!
At 2: 30 on Saturday afternoon, the children and parents who signed up for the activity gathered at the east gate of Honghu Park. At the beginning of the activity, Teacher Fan asked everyone to give themselves a natural name. Everyone takes turns to introduce their real names and design a representative action. Some children are called "Snow", others are called "Golden Eagle", and there are water plants and plum blossoms, all of which are very interesting. Then everyone played a game of guessing natural names and actions together, and ended the warm-up activities with laughter, and adults and children soon became familiar with it. Before bird watching, Mr. Mi gave us binoculars to teach us how to use them. Children learn how to use them very seriously. Ok, take your binoculars and let's go!
In the nearby lake, due to the lack of rainfall this winter, the water level has become very low. The lake in front of us has become a beach, and we can see many large and small birds playing or catching fish on the beach. The children soon recognized that Bai Niao in front of them was a little egret. They flew around in droves, attracting many tourists to stop and watch. Look carefully at the grass on the beach and you will find many birds. Friends raised their binoculars and followed the teacher's direction, and soon found the pond heron, myna and partridge ... Myna's voice was loud and very nice. The most common bird in Honghu Park all year round: the red heron. Some children found that its wings were white when it flew, but gray when it landed. Birds really have their own characteristics!
After watching the birds on the beach, everyone moved on under the guidance of Teacher Rice. Suddenly the teacher stopped. It turned out that she found a beautiful bird in the middle of a dry lotus leaf stalk in the middle of the lake. This bird, because it is a little far away, can only be observed through a telescope. I saw it! I saw it! The children found the bird one by one. It has blue feathers and is very beautiful. It turns out that he is a kingfisher who can fish. Kingfisher's feathers are blue and its belly is khaki. Why? The rice teacher explained to the children that this natural protective color can help him avoid natural enemies and help him catch food better.
I found more and more bird friends, and the children's interest is very high. What new discoveries will be made ahead?
We walked to the south of the park and came to the place where the cedar fell the most. At this time, the sound of ducks playing attracted everyone's attention. There are several ducks in the lake. Some are eating fish and some are diving. They are very active. It turns out that their names are all little grebes. After observing the lovely birds, we walked to the paradise of the birds. In the middle of the lake, near us, there is an island where there are many birds. We finally found the great egret! Teacher Fan introduced that the great egret is a migratory bird in winter, so it is generally not seen in Honghu Park in summer. This season is just the time to watch the great egret. Let the children compare the big egret with the little egret. What is the difference?
The children soon discovered that the big egret was not only bigger than the little egret, but also had a yellow mouth. On the island, besides the great egret, the little egret and the pond heron, the careful nature teacher soon discovered another kind of bird called the night heron. Because his gray is a little dim, it is not easy to find. The children finally saw the fat night heron with binoculars. It turns out that the name of the night heron comes from its foraging at night. Birds feed during the day, so you can travel at the wrong peak. How clever these birds are!
Through the whole deciduous Chinese fir forest, we know the bird owner of this lake. Teacher Fan gave each child a picture of the kingfisher, let the children use their imagination and color the kingfisher with their favorite colors. The children are very dedicated to dressing up their unique kingfisher. After drawing the colorful pictures of the kingfisher, Teacher Fan organized everyone to form a circle and make a final review and sharing. Everyone shared what you like. A child said, "I remember … the night heron's eyes are red." A mother shared, "I remember the teacher said that a bird website didn't have a recording of myna in order to prevent criminals from attracting and catching the same kind with the chirping of myna." It seems that everyone has gained the most impressive knowledge in the process of bird watching.
The two-hour natural activity ended quickly in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, and the children happily said that they would like to come again next time. Yes, as long as we are willing to get close to nature and discover it, we can see its beauty, vividness and truth? Enjoy and maintain harmony with nature. Looking forward to the future, more children and parents will join this journey of discovery!
End.
