Correctly handle the contradiction between finding dominant ore and finding inferior ore

Finding dominant ore and finding inferior ore are also a pair of categories of prospecting philosophy. Complementing each other's advantages and giving full play to their respective advantages is one of the principles of our socialist construction. For mineral exploration, it is necessary to deploy the general survey and prospecting work from the known resource characteristics of each region, give full play to its advantages in mineral resources, and get good prospecting results. It should be noted that while conducting a general survey of dominant minerals with a certain intensity, we should also look for inferior minerals with appropriate intensity, and combine giving full play to advantages with comprehensive prospecting. There are several reasons for this.

1. Recognized resource advantages do not necessarily reflect the whole picture of advantageous resources.

Because it often takes a long time to understand the whole picture of a region's resource advantages, only when we have a more comprehensive and clear understanding of the general situation of the resources in this region can we truly clarify the resource advantages in this region. For example, it will take a long time to understand the whole picture of Jiangxi's mineral resources advantages.

Before the founding of New China and the early days of the People's Republic of China, Jiangxi was famous for its rich wolframite at home and abroad. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, the discovery and exploration of "Five Golden Flowers" copper mines (Dexing Copper Mine, Yongping Copper Mine, Chengmenshan Copper Mine, Wushan Copper Mine and Dongxiang Copper Mine) were successful, which made copper mines leap into the ranks of superior resources. In the middle and late 1960s, with the successful discovery and exploration of several large-scale tantalum-niobium ores in northeast and central Jiangxi, tantalum-niobium ore became one of the dominant minerals in Jiangxi. The discovery of light and heavy rare earths in the 1970s occupies an important position in China, thus forming Jiangxi's resource characteristics with tungsten, copper, rare minerals and rare earth minerals as advantages. Since 1980s, due to the strengthening of geological work, a series of important breakthroughs have been made in nonmetallic ore prospecting. If the mineral exploration work in the past 30 years was limited to finding superior minerals and giving full play to the resource advantages of tungsten ore, and did not pay attention to the comprehensive survey and the prospecting work of inferior minerals and other minerals at that time, it would be impossible for Jiangxi to have such a resource situation with many minerals and good supporting conditions today.

The advantages are comparative, but generally speaking.

A mineral, even the real advantage of the region, is not always unlimited. Because the degree of "development" of superior resources should be determined according to the needs of national economic construction and the development trend of supply and demand in the international mineral products market, the potential resource advantages can be transformed into realistic economic advantages. Therefore, it is necessary to consider and determine the prospecting guidelines for some relatively dominant minerals, general minerals and some rare minerals according to needs and possibilities.

The dominant minerals in some areas, such as coal in Shanxi and Inner Mongolia and copper in Jiangxi, are local superior resources, but the proven reserves are far from meeting the needs of construction and development, so we must continue to give play to our advantages.

Some minerals may be dominant in a certain area, but they are of little significance in the whole country. Even though some minerals have real advantages in the whole country, such as tungsten ore in Nanling, molybdenum ore in Henan and rare earth in Jiangxi, due to certain restrictions of domestic economic construction and international market demand, their quantities are not very large, and if too much effort is invested in this respect, they will not be used in the near future; On the other hand, there are some minerals that are in urgent need of national economic construction, and there is not enough power to find them, which can not meet the requirements of national economic construction. Therefore, for these superior minerals, we can only persistently find out the prospects of these resources with certain strength, and at the same time make a good reserve base for the replacement of old mines, and we can't invest too much power to give play to this advantage.

3. It is necessary to proceed from the reality of all localities and handle the relationship between finding excellent ore and finding poor ore.

After the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, in order to implement the eight-character policy of adjusting the national economy, starting from the reality of Jiangxi Province, some mineral exploration work with unsatisfactory metallogenic geological conditions has been reduced, and the exploration work of superior minerals such as tungsten and copper has been strengthened, and obvious results have been achieved, especially a series of new breakthroughs have been made in tungsten prospecting. However, in the process of adjustment, some new problems have emerged, that is, as soon as we give full play to our advantages, all relevant geological teams are trying to find more powerful tungsten mines. However, judging from the ratio of domestic and international demand and investment intensity among various minerals, 1979 and 1980 have been engaged in tungsten exploration for two years, which has crowded out other minerals and affected the comprehensive prospecting. In view of this situation, 198 1 year made some new adjustments. For the obviously smaller tungsten ore, only the preliminary exploration has been completed, and no more work has been done; For medium-sized and above tungsten mines, choose the best one for evaluation. In this way, the proportion of tungsten ore in the whole project is reduced, thus freeing up some technical strength and investment to strengthen the prospecting of tin ore, precious metals and nonmetals. Because of this, the general survey of tin, gold, silver and nonmetal minerals has achieved gratifying geological results.

Another example is Jiangxi's coal, which is not an advantage or a dominant mineral in the whole Jiangxi resources. Compared with Shanxi, Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang in the north, it is even more insignificant. However, in the southern coal-deficient provinces, the conditions are still one of the slightly better provinces. Although the cost of exploration 1 ton coal in Jiangxi is several times higher than that in the north, under the current situation of energy shortage and heavy transportation pressure, in order to use local materials to meet the needs of local industrial production and people's life, some work should be done according to the possibility of geological conditions. Gannan, in particular, has many mines, large energy consumption and insufficient coal for production and living. Due to the shortage of fuel and the demand for fuelwood, a large number of forests have been cut down, resulting in soil erosion, destruction of ecological balance and environmental degradation, resulting in a dual energy crisis. In order to solve the problem of coal for production and life, it is much more expensive to transport it from northern Jiangxi than to mine small coal mines in southern Jiangxi. Therefore, in Gannan area, where tungsten and rare earth are the main resources, appropriate resources are arranged for coal exploration in areas with good coal-forming conditions, which has achieved certain results and has been welcomed by the local government and people.
