The Historical Situation of Sizhou Temple

Sizhou Temple is located in the southwest of Luojia Mountain, which is more than 780 meters above sea level in Dongyuan, Yangxin County, Hubei Province. The mountains here are tall and lush, and they are mysterious all year round. There is also a Luojiazhai at the waist of the mountain. According to the master of Sizhou Temple, there was a noble man named Yuan in surabaya county, Yanzhou, Shandong Province. He is highly respected and became a monk in the local Dianchi Temple. It was at night that he dreamed that the immortal said, "Every tiger has a foundation and a place to live." Gong woke up from his dream, remembered it and began to travel around famous mountains. One day, passing by Luojia Mountain in Dongyuan, I saw a tiger perched on a strange stone. Gong was called a tiger and got three treasures of clothes. The tiger will leave soon. Therefore, Gong established a foundation here. According to Buddhist classics, there are four continents around Xumi Mountain, named "Sizhou Temple". Since then, incense has continued. At the end of the Tang Dynasty, there was war and the temple was destroyed by fire. According to the Records of the Temple, Sizhou Temple was rebuilt three years later (AD 903).

Yangxin County Records: In 903, Luo built Sizhou Temple in Luojiashan, Dongyuan, which was destroyed in Yuan Dynasty. During the reign of Xuande in the Ming Dynasty, Xi Dao, a monk from Shandong Province, came here to be rebuilt, which has been more than 1 100 years. It is one of the four famous temples in Yangxin (Qifeng Temple, Sizhou Temple, Shibi Temple and Wanfo Temple). There is a newly erected monk's tomb tower in an open space behind Sizhou Temple. The young monk said that just after the death of Master Rong Qing, the old mage of Sizhou Temple, some disciples studying in foreign Buddhist colleges returned to the temple to offer sacrifices. It is reported that Master Rong Qing and Master Rong Ming have adopted more than a dozen abandoned babies and orphans, all of whom were raised by the two masters.

Master Rong Qing became a monk on 1927. He was only 8 years old when he became a monk. A few years later, his mother and a sister (Master Rong Ming) also became monks in Sizhou Temple, witnessing the historical changes of Sizhou Temple in the past hundred years. Master Rong Ming said that many precious historical relics were preserved in the temple, which were basically destroyed during the Cultural Revolution, especially a stone tablet of King Robin presented by Tang Zhongzong. At present, there are some relics of various historical periods everywhere in the temple, and only one pagoda built in the 22nd year of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty (A.D. 18 17) is well preserved. This tower is more than seven stories high, with six stories and square corners. What is exasperating is that in recent years, some cultural relics dealers stole the stone tombstones on the ordinary tower (a tomb dedicated to placing monks' ashes) and rebuilt them. Most of the pottery pots containing the ashes of several dynasties in the tower were also stolen.

The master also said that Luo, one of the four outstanding poets in the early Tang Dynasty, fled to Sizhou Temple to live in seclusion after his defeat in Yangzhou. The first year of light house? In 684, Wu Zetian abolished Li Xian as the king of Luling, and actively prepared to change the Tang Dynasty to Zhou Dynasty. In September of this year, (the emperor gave Li surname, later called Li), according to Yangzhou's uprising against Wu Zetian, Wang took part in this military operation and was appointed as an artistic and literary order, in charge of confidential documents. It was at this time that the famous Legend of Wulin was written. 1 1 In June, Li was defeated and the king's whereabouts were unknown.

Master Rong Ming said that after the defeat of Yangzhou, King Robin converted to the mantle in Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou, and soon fled to Sizhou Temple. He inherited the mantle of merit. At that time, the temple was magnificent and had a large number of believers. 196 1 February, 2008, Sizhou Temple was awarded by the provincial government as "the key protected unit of retired Sizhou Temple in Wang Luobin". Where did King Robin retire? Where did you die?

The reporter consulted a lot of historical materials. According to the report, when Li launched the Yangzhou mutiny, the king drafted the famous "Anti-Wu Theory", recounting Wu Zetian's misdeeds, conspiring against evil, affirming the righteousness, and hoping to achieve the goal of anti-Wu.

In the article, Wang ended with "Let's see who owns the map of today's world", which is magnificent and infectious. It is said that Wu Zetian suddenly changed color after reading the sketch and asked who wrote it. When she heard that King Robin did it, she was very sad. Wu Zetian said, "If the Prime Minister is at fault, isn't it fair to be talented?"

Yun Yunqing in the Tang Dynasty said in "Preface to Tam Collection": "During the reign of the civilized emperor (in 684, the first year of Tang Ruizong), I rebelled with my children in Guangling, and my military affairs were not smooth, so I fled." "The Biography of Wang Luobin in the New Tang Dynasty" also said so, "The guest king is desperate and doesn't know what to do." Therefore, King Robin became a mystery in history.

Therefore, there are several sayings circulating in history, which can be summarized as follows: First, the theory of escape. One theory is that Robin's tomb was found in the east of Nantong, and the other is that Robin died in Chongchuan.

The second is being killed. Wang Luobin and others are going to flee to North Korea and arrive at Hailing (now Taizhou, Jiangsu). When they were blocked by the wind and waves, they were killed by the king of the Ministry, which spread to the eastern capital and implicated the whole family and people.

The third is suicide theory. Luo finally threw himself into the river.

The fourth is to become a monk. Song Wenzhi once wrote moon poems in Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou, and an old monk came to confront him. It turned out to be King Robin.

According to the introduction of Master Zhiyuan, a disciple of Master Rong Ming, I once heard of Master Rong Qing, the father of his teacher. According to the Annals of Sizhou Temple, Luo fled to Sizhou Temple after becoming a monk in Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou, and finally died in Sizhou Temple. Not far from Sizhou Temple, there is an ancient tombstone, which Master Dad clearly remembers. The inscription introduces the life of King Robin. Regrettably, the temple records were burned by the rebels during the Cultural Revolution, and the ancient tombstones were buried in the ground. The reporter found another material, which introduced the memories of General Wang Ping, the former political commissar and general of the General Logistics Department of China People's Liberation Army. He said: there is an ancient tomb not far from his mother's grave. The tombstone is very high and the inscription records the king Robin in history.

Regarding the whereabouts of King Robin, due to the contradiction in historical records, various speculations have been formed, and there is no conclusion yet. Whether Wang Luobin retired to Sizhou Temple and died here remains to be further verified by experts and scholars.
