Luoyang, Henan tourist attractions
Longmen Grottoes, one of the treasure houses of stone carving art in China, is now a world cultural heritage, a national key cultural relic protection unit and a national 5A-level tourist attraction. It is located in Longmen Mountain and Xiangshan Mountain on both sides of the Yihe River in Luolong District, Luoyang City, Henan Province. It was dug in the reign of Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty, and then it was built on a large scale in the Eastern Wei Dynasty, the Western Wei Dynasty and the Northern Qi Dynasty for more than 400 years, with a length of 1 km from north to south. Today, there are 2345 caves, more than 654.38 million statues and more than 2800 inscriptions.
2. Baiyun Mountain
Baiyun Mountain is located in the virgin forest area in the hinterland of Funiu Mountain in the south of Songxian County, Luoyang City, Henan Province. There are 204 species of animals and plants 199 1 species, and the forest coverage rate is over 98.5%. It is praised as a "natural museum" by experts and scholars. There are 37 peaks above1500m, of which Yuhuangding is the first peak of Baiyun Mountain at an altitude of 2216m, and it is one of the best places to watch the sunrise and the sea of clouds. Baiyun Mountain: a world geopark, a national 5A-level tourist attraction, a national forest park, one of the top ten leisure resorts in China, one of the most beautiful places in China, and the third among the top ten scenic spots in Henan Province.
3. Baima Temple
Baima Temple is located in Baima Temple Town, Luolong District, east 12km of the old city of Luoyang City, Henan Province. The world-famous Galand, the first ancient temple in China, which was built in the 11th year of Yongping in the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 68), is the first official temple built after Buddhism was introduced into China. It is known as the "ancestral temple" and "source of Buddhism in China, with a history of 1900 years. The existing sites and historical sites were left over from the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. A large number of dry lacquer statues of the Yuan Dynasty are preserved in the temple, such as Buddha III, prefect Ertian and eighteen arhats, which are very precious.
4. Guan Lin
Guanlin, a national key cultural relics protection unit and a national 4A-level tourist attraction, was the burial place of Guan Yu, a general of Shu State during the Three Kingdoms period, with a temple in front and a tomb behind. Located in Guanlin Town, Luolong District, Luoyang City, Henan Province. Guanlin is one of the three major temples at home and abroad, with the ancient city of Sui and Tang Dynasties in the north, Longmen Grottoes in the south, Luolong Avenue in the west and Liuqinghe in the east. Among thousands of temples, Guanlin is called "Lin" alone, which is the only ancient classic building in China that integrates tombs, temples and forests.
5. Laojun Mountain in Luanchuan
Laojun Mountain in Luanchuan is located in the south of Luanchuan County, Luoyang City, with an altitude of 2 192 meters, which is a 5A-level scenic spot. It is one of the three main peaks of Funiu Mountain, also known as Shi Jing. According to legend, Laozi, the founder of Taoism, once practiced in seclusion in this mountain, hence the name Laojun Mountain. Laojunmiao was founded in the Northern Wei Dynasty, with iron rafters and iron tiles, resplendent and magnificent, and was honored as a Taoist holy land in the Tang, Song, Ming and Qing Dynasties. Laojun Mountain is magnificent, "stop at the peak, look around, you can look at Qin Que in the west, Chu in the south, Longmen in the north and Shaolin in the east". Scholars and poets of past dynasties admired Laojun Mountain.
