Kaoshui Village is a village under the jurisdiction of Ziyang Town, Wuyuan County. Kaoshui (also known as Kaochuan) is the birthplace of China's "Ming Jing Hu Family", and the "Xidi" Hu Family of the world cultural heritage moved to Kaoshui.

Kaoshui has the reputation of "a scholarly family and a land of etiquette". Zhu Xi once wrote an inscription "Ming Jing School, Poetry and Literary Family" to praise Kaoshui. Ming Jing Gong, the founder of Kaoshui, advocated Ming Confucianism and became a Confucian sect. Later generations had the tendency to emphasize education and worship Confucianism. They were praised and awarded one after another from generation to generation. In the Song Dynasty, there was Hu Shen, "Hu Shenwang Zao, the second treasure in the south of the Yangtze River", and in the Yuan Dynasty, there were the "Seven Sages of Famous Philosophers", etc. There were 20 Jinshi scholars in the past dynasties. The ancestral homes of the famous modern scholar Hu Shi, the Huizhou merchant Hu Guansan, the calligrapher and calligrapher Hu Kaiwen, the traditional Chinese medicine entrepreneur Hu Qingyu, and the modern red-top businessman Hu Xueyan are all in Kaoshui.

Kaoshui settlement, the beautiful scenery of mountains and rivers is integrated with ancient architectural art, with reasonable layout, elegant and unique. The ancient residential buildings preserved in Kaoshui are all with Huizhou characteristics, such as horse-head walls, cornices, carved beams and painted buildings, and the figures, flowers, birds and animals are lifelike. The Weixin Bridge was rebuilt during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. There are pavilions on the bridge. The couplet of the pavilions says: "The bridge pavilions are elegant and resemble villas, and the towering pavilions cover the village gates." It is convenient for travelers and farmers to rest. The remarkable Prince's Tomb has a history of 1,002 years and is still well preserved. This tomb is located in Huang Dujuan and Bagua Mausoleum, one mile away from the village. The large stone tablet in front of the tomb is engraved with eight large seal characters of "The Tomb of the First Ancestor Ming Jing Hu Gong". The peeling spots and cracks on the stone tablet record thousands of years of rain, snow, wind and frost. After many dynasties, it still remains the same. It is a rare monument far and wide.

Kaoshui Village was built in the late Tang Dynasty (904 AD) more than a thousand years ago. Kaoshui Village was originally an administrative village under Gaosha Township, Wuyuan County. Not long ago, the township was evacuated and merged into a town and placed under the jurisdiction of Ziyang Town. Although it is not far from the bustling county town, entering Kaoshui Village is like entering a paradise. A small river is crystal clear. A covered bridge at the entrance of Kaoshui Village arches the north and south of the creek. It has black tiles and white walls, and the word "Weixin Bridge" No dust or dirt. The shepherd boy riding a cow beside the water grass and the woman washing clothes at the waterfront all become the scenery of green mountains and green water.

Kaoshui Village has three streets, namely Front Street, Middle Street and Back Street. The three streets have very different "feng shui". It is said that the front street produces rich people, the middle street produces high-ranking officials, and the back street produces commoners. Because of this, people compete to live on Middle Street and Front Street. According to village history, during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, the foundation of Zhongjie increased to 1,000 yuan per square meter. As a result, the backstreets gradually withered and fell into ruin, leaving sections of ruins. In the middle street there are Jinshi Hall, Wenchang Pavilion, Junma Building and Wenbi Terrace, all of which are official residences. "A seal on Shanghai Road is not as good as a letter on Kaoshui Street." This sentence makes Kaoshui people proud and has been passed down for more than ten generations. On Kaoshuiqian Street, the ancient ancestral hall, the Qinfang Academy, the dance pavilion and the stage are all original. Original Ming and Qing style. Due to the wear and tear of time, these buildings that embody the culmination of Confucianism have become old, thin, and show their vicissitudes.

Kaoshui once gave birth to Hu Shen, the "Two Treasures of the South of the Yangtze River, Hu Shen Wang Zao", Hu Chi and Hu Bo, brothers who were Jinshi, father and son, four Jinshi, and seven sages and seven Jinshi in the Yuan Dynasty. Since the Tang Dynasty, in more than a thousand years of history, China has only produced about 100,000 Jinshi, and there are more than ten Jinshis in Kaoshui Village who have been documented. It also gave birth to Hu Xueyan, a red-top businessman of the Qing Dynasty, Hu Guansan, a giant businessman from the south of the Yangtze River, Hu Kaiwen, a family of calligraphy and ink, Hu Qingyu, the emperor of traditional Chinese medicine, and Hu Shi, a cultural giant.
