What's the climate in China?
is distributed in the area north of Qinling-Huaihe River, mainly including North China Plain, Loess Plateau and Northeast Plain. In winter, influenced by the northwest monsoon from the Siberian high center of high latitude inland Mongolia, polar continental air masses prevail here; In summer, influenced by polar ocean air mass or denatured tropical ocean air mass, southeast monsoon prevails.
climate characteristics: it is hot and rainy in summer, cold and dry in winter, with rain and heat in the same period.
There are four distinct seasons throughout the year, and the weather is changeable. With the increase of latitude, the temperature amplitude in winter and summer increases correspondingly, while the precipitation decreases gradually.
2. Subtropical monsoon climate
is distributed in the area south of Qinling-Huaihe River in China, including the plain in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, southeast hills, Sichuan Basin and Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. It is a zone where tropical ocean air masses and polar continental air masses alternately control and compete with each other. The northwest monsoon prevails in winter and the southeast monsoon prevails in summer.
climate characteristics: high temperature and rainy in summer, mild and little rain in winter, with rain and heat at the same time.
It's not cold in winter here. The average temperature in January is generally above ℃, and it's hot in summer. The average temperature in July is generally around 25℃, and the Xia Feng direction changes obviously in winter. The annual precipitation is generally above 1 mm, mainly concentrated in summer and less in winter.
3. Tropical monsoon climate
is mainly distributed in southern Taiwan Province, Leizhou Peninsula, Hainan Island and southern Yunnan.
The winter monsoon is influenced by the thermal differences between land and sea, and the northeast monsoon prevails. In summer, the pressure belt winds move northward, and the southeast trade winds in the southern hemisphere cross the equator and enter the northern hemisphere. Under the action of geostrophic deviatorics, the southwesterly monsoon turns to the right.
Climatic characteristics:
(1) The temperature here is high all year round, with the annual average temperature above 2℃, and generally above 18℃ in Leng Yue.
(2) The annual precipitation is large, which is concentrated in summer. This is because there are many convective rains in summer under the control of equatorial ocean air mass, and a large amount of precipitation is brought by tropical cyclone transit, which leads to more summer rain than that in tropical grassland climate; In some windward coasts, the summer precipitation even exceeds the equatorial rainforest climate zone because of the topography. The annual precipitation is generally above 15 ~ 2 mm. The tropical monsoon is developed in this area, with obvious dry and wet seasons, that is, the northeast wind blows in the northern hemisphere in winter, forming a dry season; In summer, the southwest wind from the Indian Ocean blows, which is rich in water vapor and concentrated in precipitation, forming the rainy season.
4. Temperate continental climate:
Mainly distributed in northwest China, including Inner Mongolia Plateau, Tarim Basin and Junggar Basin.
Because it is far away from the ocean, it is difficult to reach the humid climate, so it is dry and rainy, and the daily temperature range is larger than that in annual range. Moreover, the closer to the center of the mainland, the drier it is, the greater the annual and daily temperature difference, and the transition of vegetation from forest to grassland and desert.
climate characteristics: the temperature in annual range is high, it is hot in summer and cold in winter. There is less precipitation.
5. Alpine climate, mainly distributed in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Due to high altitude, low temperature and less precipitation.
