Somatosensory temperature and actual temperature

Somatosensory temperature refers to the ambient temperature perceived by human body, mainly considering the correction of the temperature measured by blinds by wind, humidity, sunshine and clothes color. If the somatosensory temperature is higher than the temperature, it means that the above factors have warming effect on the human body, and vice versa.

The temperature in the weather forecast only represents the air temperature, and cannot fully express the human body's feelings about the environment, but the temperature can be used as a parameter of the human body's feelings about the temperature, which is the difference between the air temperature and the somatosensory temperature. Under the same temperature conditions, people will have different cold and warm feelings because of different air humidity, wind speed, dress color, sunshine and even mood. For example, when the temperature is 30℃, the air relative humidity is about 40%-50%, and the average wind speed is above 3m/s, people will not feel very hot. However, under the same temperature conditions, if the relative humidity increases above 80% and the wind speed is very low, people will feel sultry and uncomfortable, and even the weak will suffer from heatstroke.

Air humidity and somatosensory temperature

In life, we have the feeling that the weather forecast of the meteorological station will be inconsistent with the degree of cold and warm that we actually feel. Why is this happening? The temperature in the weather forecast only represents the air temperature, and cannot fully express the human body's feelings about the environment, but the temperature can be used as a parameter of the human body's feelings about the temperature, which is the difference between the air temperature and the somatosensory temperature. Somatosensory temperature refers to the temperature sense that people feel hot and cold, also called somatosensory climate. It cannot be simply understood as the difference between skin temperature and air temperature. Under the same temperature conditions, people will have different cold and warm feelings because of different air humidity, wind speed, dress color, sunshine and even mood. For example, when the temperature is 30℃, the air relative humidity is about 40% ~ 50%, and the average wind speed is above 3m/s, people will not feel very hot. However, under the same temperature conditions, if the relative humidity increases above 80% and the wind speed is very low, people will feel sultry and uncomfortable, and even the weak will suffer from heatstroke. In order to provide services closer to life for friends from all walks of life, Guizhou Provincial Professional Meteorological Observatory launched a somatosensory temperature (comfort) forecast, hoping to bring convenience to your work and life.

I found that the somatosensory temperature fluctuated downward when the wind force was 4. I don't know why.
