What kind of person is Wu Cheng? Theoretical walker
The journey can be extended to a cultural proposition. Turning to the cultural history of China, it is not uncommon for cultural travelers to travel. Mr Kong Qiu, the earliest founder of Confucianism, is a scholar on the road. His theories, viewpoints and opinions were formed, expounded, preached and spread all the way. Since Confucius, scholars of all ages have been sweating for learning and running around.
Wu Cheng, a native of Chongren, Jiangxi Province in the Yuan Dynasty, should also be counted as one.
Wu Cheng was a great Confucian in Yuan Dynasty. From today's perspective, we certainly won't hold him as a saint, but it should be well-deserved to regard him as an outstanding thinker and educator in China 13 and 14 centuries.
During the Song and Ming Dynasties, Jiangxi Neo-Confucianism was the most prosperous and famous, which laid the foundation for Jiangxi culture to walk in the forefront of the country. Yuan Dynasty is the intermediate link of inheriting Qi Ming from Song Dynasty, and Jiangxi Neo-Confucianism still maintains great influence in the whole country. Yuanji * * * is a "Uighur road", which originated in Jiangxi and also concentrated in Jiangxi. Its owner is Wu Cheng. Its most influential school is Cao Lu School.
Wu Cheng (1243-13 13) was born in Chongren, Jiangxi Province. He used to be a teacher of Guo Zi Company, a bachelor of Hanlin and a banquet lecturer. Because the name of the house where he lives is: Caotang. People also call him Mr. Cao Lu.
This man, known as Mr. Cao Lu, actually thinks highly of himself, reminiscent of a poem by the Swedish poet Trondstrom: "His wild dream for the future is like a kite flying bigger than the suburbs." That kite is very attractive. What is the kite that young Wu Cheng wants to fly in his heart?
This can be estimated from his expectation of becoming a saint at an early age. Wu Cheng proudly said, "What is chastity today? Nothing! " The implication is great, and the people of Sri Lanka are responsible for it. According to the analysis of relevant experts, it can be seen that Wu Cheng's purpose in life is not to be satisfied with classics and erudition, but to become a new saint connecting the past with the future. Although he worked as an official several times in his life, his time was not long. He spends more time writing books and giving lectures, enjoying his old age, so giving lectures is the longest in his life.
Linru Academy was a famous academy in Fuzhou, Jiangxi during the Southern Song Dynasty. It was built by Jiangxi Feng Quji in the eighth year of Chunyou (1248). It is located outside the southwest gate of Fuzhou and is open to the outside world.
Wu Cheng has been studying here intermittently since he was sixteen. His life was deeply influenced by Linru Academy.
In his memory, this academy is like a tree with deep roots and leaves, which makes Wu Cheng unforgettable. In "Preface to Farewell to Huang Meng 'an, Head of Linru Academy", he deeply recalled the scene of studying there: "I traveled there, and some scholars led me to the top. Sometimes he dragged me down, rubbing his shoulders and touching his heels, but he talked about morality and articles." People who gather during the day are like cities, and people who stay at night are like homes. ..... Linru is a place to travel in the weak years ".
Wu Cheng also talked about the establishment of Linru Academy by Ji Ji in "Rebuilding Zunjing Pavilion": "Shen went to the courtyard to mention the tea and salt in Changping, Jiangnan West Road. His predecessor, Mr. Zhu, wanted to be an official on the day he officially took office, but he didn't go. He set up Linru Academy in Gao Shuang, southwest of Fuzhou City, and enshrined it in Wengong Temple, where scholars preached. " Once again, "when I was young, I dropped out of college many times, but I didn't get along very often." I retreat to the scriptures, and I dare not neglect every word. " Small endowment and bitter ambition. "
The academic tendency of Linru Academy is mainly that of Zhu Xue. Feng Quji, the founder of the Academy, was a disciple of Zhu Men, and Zhu worshipped the Academy. The reading method of "one word can't be ignored" advocated by the academy is obviously a copy of Zhu Fuzi's "read carefully, word by word, and see what falls". It was here that Wu Cheng was trained by Zhu Xuexue.
The head of Linru Academy is Cheng Ruoyong. Cheng Ruoyong, whose word is Dayuan, is called Mr. Wu Zhai by scholars and is from Xiuning, Hubei Province. In his early years, he studied Zhu Cheng Neo-Confucianism under Rao Lu and Shen Guiyao. He has taught in Hufeng Academy in Jiangxi for ten thousand years and is also the head of Anding Academy in Huzhou. He is the third generation disciple of Zhu Men.
Wu Cheng is a disciple of Linru Academy. He is diligent in thinking, has unique opinions and likes to cross-examine. As a disciple of Zhumen, Cheng Ruoyong's theory did not fully conform to Zhuzi's original intention, nor did he stick to Zhumen's ideas. So in a sense, he has a certain spirit of questioning, which left a deep impression on Wu Cheng. However, Wu Cheng's erudition and keen observation greatly appreciated Cheng Ruoyong, and they became a pair of unforgettable friends. He also introduced his son Cheng Cunfu and his son Cheng Jufu to Wu Cheng, hoping that he would help spur these two peers. Wu Cheng forged a deep friendship with Cheng Jufu in Linru Academy, and Cheng Jufu later became a famous scholar and an important civil servant in Yuan Dynasty.
