How long does it take to reissue a passport in Japan?

Our embassy in China has fully implemented the online booking service for passports and travel permits since April 1 20 17. Applications for issuing, renewing, replacing and filling in ordinary passports and issuing, renewing and replacing travel permits need to be booked online in advance. In principle, applications for SAR passports will not be accepted, except for urgent reasons such as mourning, seeing a doctor, losing your passport and the need to reissue your travel permit.

It takes about 15 working days from the submission of the application at the window to the issuance of a new passport, so it is impossible to handle the expedited business (the travel permit can be expedited). Remind you of the validity period and effective pages of your passport. If the validity period is less than 12 months or your visa page is full (or your passport is stained, etc. ), I suggest you make an appointment online as soon as possible and change your new passport in time so as not to affect your travel plan.
