Spring fishing tips

Fishing tackle: soft rod, thin line, small hook. It is better to use a hand pole for spring fishing, and the pole should be soft and 5.4-6.3 meters long.

Shallow water: In spring, fishing must be done in shallow water areas, shores, beaches, and aquatic plants to catch fish.

Living water: brings food and fresh oxygen. Fish love to live in living water areas. Fishing points should be chosen near flowing living water, on both sides of the water inlet, and at aquatic plants.

Grass holes: Fish often live and feed under aquatic plants. If you choose grass holes or grass edges as fishing spots, you will definitely get better harvests.

South wind: Spring has just begun to warm up. East wind, southeast wind, and southwest wind are all good for fishing. West wind and northwest wind are not suitable for fishing. In spring fishing, you should choose weather with south wind and sunshine, or when it has been sunny for a long time and it rains first. When the south wind blows again, it is a great time for fishing in spring.

Meat bait: After the fish lie dormant for a long winter, under the sunlight, the temperature rises, and the belly is empty. They urgently need to fill their hungry intestines. Most of the vegetarian food required by the fish has not yet grown, so , generally omnivorous fish mainly rely on looking for meat food. Sometimes, if you fish with red worms, earthworms, shrimps and other meat baits, you will not be able to catch fish.

Talk about the best season for fishing crucian carp

For fishing crucian carp in natural waters, spring or late autumn is the best season for fishing crucian carp throughout the year.

The proverb goes: "When spring comes, the fish pull over." It is said that when early spring comes, crucian carp likes to forage in the aquatic plants in natural waters during the breeding season. Therefore, the method of fishing crucian carp in spring is completely different from the method of fishing crucian carp in other seasons.

The only difference is the two fishing methods: moving fishing and fixed-point fishing. Based on the author’s many years of experience and opinions in crucian carp fishing, I believe: “It is best to fish crucian carp by walking in spring.”

1. Waters for fishing crucian carp by foot

The three preferred water areas for fishing crucian carp by foot in spring are:

1. Natural rivers Natural rivers often stretch for miles , once the tide comes in and out, there are depths and shallows, twists and turns, and it is not easy to dry up. The riverside is covered with water and grass, and there are abundant wild crucian carp, and the individual meat is large and delicious.

2. Small and medium-sized reservoirs. These small and medium-sized reservoirs are relatively easy to find in cities and are not too deep. The wild small crucian carp in such reservoirs can be caught inexhaustibly.

3. Ponds that do not dry out. This kind of pond will not be drained to catch fish. There are many wild crucian carp.

2. Fishing positions for walking crucian carp

Three principles should be adhered to when choosing fishing positions for walking fishing crucian carp in spring:

1. Safety;

 2. Chaoyang grass;

3. Convenient for fishing.

Natural rivers:

(1) Natural rivers should have a gentle river bed, and fishing positions with changing river beds and different depths should not be selected.

(2) Choose a fishing spot near the river where the water plants are denser, and do not choose a fishing position in the cold waters under the trees.

(3) The water depth on the shore should be murky water area within 1 meter. Do not choose fishing positions with deep water or crystal clear bottom.

Small and medium-sized reservoirs:

(1) When fishing for crucian carp in small and medium-sized reservoirs, you should choose the aquatic plants in the Chaoyang shoal within 50 meters of the water inlet on the reservoir, and do not choose the deep water downstream fishing position.

(2) When fishing crucian carp in the reservoir, the water depth can be about 1.5 meters to 2.0 meters. Do not choose waters that are too deep for fishing positions.

Ponds that do not dry out:

(1) Ponds that do not dry out are usually built at the foot of mountains. Fishing positions should be chosen near the water inlet and outlet, not in front. Use a place that does not touch the mountain or the mouth behind as a fishing position.

(2) The fishing position should be selected in a safe and convenient place for access, and should not be selected as a fishing position on the mountainside with dense woods and difficult to pass.

1. Fishing tackle combination: one 3.6-meter and one 4.5-meter mid-range hand rod. Fishing line: 1# main line, 0.6# sub-line.

Fishing hook: You can choose from sky hook, single hook or double hook. The hook type should be small rather than large. The main mark is the seven-star mark, supplemented by the straight mark (the mark is more flexible). A small pendant, a small connector, a small net, and a fish guard. Use long poles for reservoirs and short poles for river ponds. It rains a lot in spring, so don’t forget to bring rain gear.

2. Delineate the fishing position and build a good nest: After selecting the fishing targets, you should carefully survey the water environment when you go to the waterside. If suitable, you can build a nest to lure fish for fishing.

When fishing for crucian carp by walking, you should follow three do’s and three don’ts:

(2.1) Go close (to the edge of the grass), not far away.

(2.2) Strike shallow, not deep.

(2.3) Make muddy (water), not clear (water).

The number of nests should be made from small to large. During the fishing period, three should be made as a trial fishing for 1-2 hours. If there is a surprise, another 3-4 nests may be made, and full flowering may occur. Spectacular. Remember that after each nest is made, it should be marked immediately to avoid misalignment and resultant failure.

3. Have both bait and bait: When fishing crucian carp in spring, you can usually prepare two kinds of bait when making a nest, one: wine rice (800 grams), two: bran grains (1000 grams), wild fishing in Fuzhou area For crucian carp, using bran to make a nest is a traditional fishing method, and the effect is very ideal. However, making bran nest bait is a little more troublesome than using wine rice, but fishermen are never afraid of trouble. The specific preparation method is very simple, take one part fine rice bran, half part red wine grains, and half part rice, fry the bran for a while and mix it with rice grains. In the prepared bran material, adding 200 grams of rice can be the "icing on the cake".

Bait is the key weapon for winning fishing. Fishing in spring should mainly use meat bait (red earthworms), supplemented by vegetarian bait. After the beginning of spring, crucian carp does everything possible to find aquatic plants as a "delivery room" to give birth and reproduce offspring. At this time, it is in great need of nutritional supplements, so fat live earthworms are the best bait.

When fishing for crucian carp in spring, you often encounter thunderstorms. I wonder if fishing friends have noticed that when the temperature continues to rise sharply, thunder and lightning occur, and thunderstorms begin, large crucian carp will flock to the water plants to grab them. The food is very ferocious, and the hooking rate can be said to have reached the limit, forcing fishermen to be in a hurry and overwhelmed. Most of the fish caught are flat crucian carp. Local fishermen often look forward to the good times when "thunders ring in the sky and flat crucian carp rush in the river". But this time is extremely short. After the thunder and rain stop, clear skies often appear in the sky again. At this time, all the crucian carp "stop their activities" and run away. Trying to catch one more fish also ends in despair, which is difficult for many fishermen to understand. Its a mystery.

Note:

(1) Although walking fishing for crucian carp is a very interesting fishing method, it should not be promoted by elderly fishermen.

(2) When fishing, it is not always necessary to follow the order of laying out and making nests. If there are no fish in the nest, you can jump to the nest or abandon the nest.

(3) When fishing, the bait hook must be aimed at the center of the nest, otherwise there will be no fish to catch.

(4) When fishing by foot, you should move more slowly to avoid frightening the group of fish.
