Golden Pagoda Park, Hancheng, Visiting the Jinzhai Village Pagoda in Jin Dynasty
In downtown Hancheng, there is a Golden Pagoda Park with an ancient pagoda built in the Jin Dynasty. There used to be a village here, the name of which was Yunwuzhai, and this tower was located in the village, so people also called this ancient pagoda "Yunwuzhai Tower". On March 12th, as soon as I arrived in hancheng city, I went straight to Jinta Park, looking for the Qiongzhai Tower here-

Jinta Park faces north, with its north gate adjacent to Jinta West Road, located at the southern end of the new city, overlooking the old city below. There are promenades, pools, fountains, hillsides, pavilions, etc., surrounded by green trees and flowers and trees, which are a good place for citizens to relax and entertain from morning till night.
From north to south, through the park, you come to the southern end of the tableland, and the Yaozhai Tower looms large. This tower is a hollow brick tower, which has six floors above the square tower foundation and is octagonal, with a pointed top and a bead tower brake, with a total height of about 28 meters.
the first floor has a voucher door to the south. There are voucher windows on each floor above, and there are four windows on the second, third, fourth and fifth floors, which are staggered and distributed every other floor. There are five windows on the sixth floor, a total of 24 windows, which overlap the eaves, make angular teeth, and wind chimes fall at the eaves. Standing under the tower, looking up, majestic and solemn.

The ancient pagoda in China has an odd number of floors. Why is this tower only six floors? In fact, the tall tower foundation is also a layer! Therefore, this tower is a typical "seven-level pagoda", which means "stupa" in Sanskrit.
The square abutment is about 7 meters high and 8 meters long, and there are steps spiraling down on the east and west sides. Unfortunately, there is an obstacle at the entrance on the north side, so it is impossible to board it. It is said that standing on the Qiongzhai Tower, you can have a panoramic view of the ancient city of Hancheng, and Sima Qian Temple is in sight.

Around the east of the tower foundation, there are two small stone tablets embedded in the blue brick wall, both of which are related to the construction of pagodas. A horizontal bluestone tablet, with the inscription "Wukong Zi Fahao's superiors went to perform their duties without compromising their self-happiness, and remembered it in the thirteenth year of Fuda"; The other is a vertical sand stone tablet with the inscription: "When Dajin was thirteen years old, he built a pagoda metropolis on May 5th.".
This used to be the site of Yuanjue Temple, whose original name is Tanfa Pagoda, which was built in the 13th year of Jin Dading (1173). In the thirty-fourth year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty (1556), this tower was destroyed during the Guanzhong earthquake, and now it was rebuilt in the forty-first year of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty (172). On May 31, 1957, this tower was announced by Shaanxi Provincial People's Committee as the second batch of provincial key cultural relics protection units, and was only called "Ancient Pagoda" at that time.

Walking out of the doorway on the south side of the tower, there is a couplet inlaid on both sides: "The tiger lives in a dragon plate and is always a paradise, and Jiao Tengfeng brings forth talented people." Hancheng is a land of geomantic omen, which breeds a large number of outstanding talents. The streets of the ancient city are like a dragon, and the Zhai Tower is built on the faucet ...
