The wind blows in Longxi-a worker must sharpen his tools first if he wants to do a good job (Part IV)
In this episode, the arms race between Cao Wei and Shu Han was finally uncovered in a secretive way. Sharp tools make good work. In the war between the two armies, assembling weapons is a key element. Both sides advocate high-tech weapons. This episode mentioned the following tricks.
1. Zhang Heng's armillary sphere
As we all know, seismograph and armillary sphere are two great inventions of Zhang Heng in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Zhang Heng, born in 78 AD and died in 139 AD, was a talented person who knew astronomy above and geography below. The seismograph is the first instrument in the world to determine the orientation of earthquakes. The armillary sphere was developed by Zhang Heng in 117 AD on the basis of Geng Shouchang's invention in the Western Han Dynasty. It covers the Antarctic North Pole, the ecliptic equator, the twenty-four solar terms and the twenty-eight stars, and completely reflects the changes of astronomical phenomena. The armillary sphere represents the highest scientific and technological level in astronomy in the Han Dynasty. Why is Guo Gang so persistent in restoring the armillary sphere of a hundred years ago? Because the armillary sphere represents the mastery of information such as astronomy and meteorology. Throughout the ages, many battles have proved that the weather determines the success or failure of the war to a certain extent. Far away, let's just say that Battle of Red Cliffs, Sun Liu's allied army, which was not dominant originally, changed the situation because of the emergence of a wind. Zhuge Liang predicted the reversal of the wind direction, so as to accurately cooperate with the use of Pang Tong's serial stratagem, Huang Gai's risks stratagem, and set fire to Cao Cao's warships, and Sun Liu's allied forces won a great victory. So the timing is very important. From the appearance of armillary sphere, we can see that Cao Wei still attached great importance to science and technology.
2. luban bamboo magpie
luban, also known as the public transport class, is a legend and the originator of China architecture and carpenters. Luban's name has actually become a symbol of the wisdom of the ancient working people. Lu Ban not only invented many tools for carpentry such as planers and saws, but also agricultural tools such as stone mills and shovels. Lu Ban also invented many siege equipment such as ladders. Therefore, Lu Ban's invention is also widely used in military affairs. The bamboo magpie mentioned in the play does exist in legend. As early as the Warring States period, Mozi made a flying "wooden kite" out of wood, and Lu Ban also made a flying "bamboo magpie" out of bamboo. It is said that the bamboo magpie in Luban can fly for three days and nights without any motivation. Of course, this is a legend. If it can be done, it will be a perpetual motion machine. It is reasonable to speculate that the bamboo magpie may really be like the one described in TV, and it is estimated to be a simple human glider. According to Guo Gang's judgment, this can probably be used to perform tasks in espionage.
3. Zhuge Lian crossbow
This is the latest secret weapon of Shu State, which is well known. It is a kind of Lian crossbow invented by Zhuge Liang and is called "Zhuge Lian crossbow" by later generations. This is clearly recorded in books such as the annals of the Three Kingdoms. Zhuge Lian crossbow can fire ten arrows at a time, and its firepower is very strong, but its size and weight are too large for individual soldiers to use. It is mainly used to defend the city and camp. However, due to the lack of physical evidence, even images, the structure of Zhuge Lian crossbow is still a mystery. Perhaps, it is precisely because of the emergence of this mystery that the author is given creative space. Created a green ping plan, that is, Cao Wei wanted to steal the drawings, and thus produced this new type of equipment himself, so as to be invincible in the war against Shu and Han. This idea is very imaginative.
The introduction of many instruments in this episode can make the audience pay more attention to the development of ancient science and technology in China, which is very meaningful. But as far as spy warfare is concerned, there are some doubts.
Guo Gang sent Chen Gong and Mi Chong behind enemy lines to contact Cao Wei's spy Wuxiandao in Shu, and obtained the drawings of Zhuge Lian's crossbow. I don't know why, I always feel that Guo Gang actually knows that Chen Gong is a white emperor and is just using him. I thought he would arrange a small team, but I arranged two people. When Bai Di and Mi Chong were sent to Shu, didn't he worry about Mi Chong's safety? Isn't he worried that Bai Di will destroy their Qingping plan? This plan is too flawed. Once in Shu, it's the territory of the enemy. Even if the joint is Wuxian Road, it's a person who is planted in Shu, but after all, it's a long way between Mi Chong and Chen Gong, and it's hard to say what happened. I don't know how Guo Gang calculated it.
Besides, Mi Chong, who has always been wise in SHEN WOO, was confused. He knew that Chen Gong was Bai Di, the ace spy of Shu, so he was not afraid of being captured alive in Shu. Mi Chong is still too arrogant. Even if he is ready to take precautions, Shu is an enemy country and the environment is unfamiliar. Probably Mi Chong's only wish is to find evidence of Chen Gong and get him. I have to say, Mi Chong is too careless.
