Where is the White Tower in Ganzhou?
It is located on the west bank of Ganjiang River in Shuixi Town, Zhanggong District, Ganzhou City. It is a Feng Shui landscape tower built by Xie Jie, the imperial censor of the Ming Dynasty (1573-1620). There used to be a Yuhong Bridge under the tower, hence the tower's name. Also, because the tower body is painted with white ash, it is commonly known as the White Tower. This tower has six sides and nine levels. It has a blue brick body and a red stone Xumi pedestal at the bottom. It is 30 meters high. The inscription "Wanli Pagoda" can be seen in many places on the tower bricks. The structure of this tower is an in-wall fold-up type. The lighting windows on the outer wall and the stairways in the inner and outer walls cleverly correspond to each other to facilitate lighting. It is a masterpiece of the Ming Dynasty brick tower.
