How did Huang Chao finally die? How did Huang Chao end?
"Until September 8 in Qiu Lai, when I bloom, all the flowers will kill me." Tianxiang pervades Chang 'an, and the city is full of golden flowers.
I have to say that this poem by Huang Chao is full of momentum and attracts the world.
Huang Chao is also a controversial figure. Some people say that he is a murderous maniac, dehumanizing and feeding on people, while others admire his courage in fighting. He was a key figure in the peasant uprising in China. It is a fact that Huang Chao finally failed, but his achievements are few and far between. Even the famous Song Jiang only dared to laugh at Huang Chao's unmarried husband. But such people, the final result is little known.
According to historical records, he was hacked to death by his nephew and his head was cut off. But the problem is that when this skull was brought before the Tang Dynasty, it could be imagined that it was highly decomposed and completely unrecognizable. I don't know if it's really Huang Chao's head.
.
So what happened to Chao Huang?
Speaking of this Huang Laosi, it can also be regarded as a rich family. In ancient times, the profit of smuggling salt was very high. It stands to reason that generations of Huang Chao's family have been doing this business, and their contacts have been paved. Huang Chao had to be a salt smuggler, but Huang Chao wrote a poem at the age of four, which surprised the elders at home. After all these years, is this a lout family?
Everything is inferior, only reading is high. In ancient times, it was very important to be famous for reading. No matter how rich your family is, you are a nouveau riche with no social status and no one respects you. Therefore, the whole Huang family invited the best teacher to make up lessons for Huang Chao, and Huang Chao was bound to gain a reputation. I didn't expect such an exam to be more than 20 years. I took it three times and failed once.
After writing this famous poem at the beginning of the article, Huang Chao bowed his head with a sigh and went home to start the ancestral salt smuggling business.
In 874 AD, floods and droughts occurred frequently throughout the country, and autumn grain was not harvested. However, due to Tang Yizong's policy of "fighting constantly and collecting more taxes", all counties are afraid to report the disaster and continue to apportion taxes, which leads to the poverty of the people. People can't eat, who will eat salt? Smugglers can't go on, a group of fugitives are not afraid of anything. So the smuggler Wang Xianzhi rebelled.
He called himself "a general assisted by nature" and "the greatest in the world is unified", and his rebel army was called the grass army. At this time, Chao Huang felt a little itchy. In 875 AD, Wang Xianzhi's army reached Cao Zhou, and Huang Chao, who was squatting at the entrance of the village every day, was very excited. He soon spent all his money, took eight sons and nephews, and recruited thousands of people to join Wang Xianzhi's army.
This year, Huang Chao was 55 years old. Later, Wang Xianzhi wanted to be wooed, but Huang Chao didn't give him a formal position. Besides, Huang Chao didn't agree with him. He had a fight with Wang Xianzhi. The whole insurgents knew about it, and many people followed suit and echoed Huang Chao. Men don't agree, Wang Xianzhi had no choice but to continue to rebel.
Two years later, Wang Xianzhi died, and Huang Chao was elected as the "Yellow King" by the Rebels, known as the "Heavenly General". A generation of murderous demons rose from Anhui to Fujian, and from Fujian to Hunan. Twelve provinces and most of the Tang Dynasty were all messed up by Huang Chao.
At the age of 60, Huang Chao attacked Chang 'an, with the title of "Daqi". After Huang Chao proclaimed himself emperor, he granted amnesty to the whole world. Officials above the third grade and relatives of the royal family in the Tang Dynasty were killed without forgiveness to avenge the imperial examination.
In 883 AD, Zhu Wen, Huang Chao's most trusted subordinate, surrendered to the Tang Dynasty, and Huang Chao withdrew from Chang 'an under the attack of Li Keyong.
In 884 AD, Huang Chao defeated Wolf Tiger Valley (now Laiwu, Jinan, Shandong), and his whereabouts were unknown. Although historical records show that he was beheaded, there are many other claims that his head rotted.
There is a story similar to Li Zicheng's joke that during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, there was a monk named Master Cuiwei in Luoyang, who was the abbot of a big temple. When he died, he pointed to his own feet. There are two words at his feet, Huang Chao. So some people say that Huang Chao became a monk.
Many people said that they had met Chao Huang himself. Others say that Huang Chao committed suicide after the defeat.
I think Huang Chao is more likely to commit suicide. He was rejected by the Tang Dynasty several times, and later rebelled successfully and proclaimed himself emperor, but he was driven out of Chang 'an and fled everywhere. In the end, the whole world has no place to live, and the ups and downs of life can't bear this blow. After committing suicide, he was chopped by his subordinates and taken to the Tang Dynasty to receive a reward. It seems that these two aspects can be matched.
