Gaojian Village is a settlement of descendants of Zheng Qian, the founder of Taizhou culture in the Tang Dynasty. Zheng Gaoben, a villager, is currently the party secretary of the Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Gaojian Village has also set up a Farmers' Cultural Palace, which includes a youth militia club, an activity room for the elderly, a TV room, a library, a radio room, a chess room, etc. The main hall of the Cultural Palace hangs a plaque of the Civilized Village awarded by the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government in 1987. There is a statue of Zheng Guangwen Gong (Zheng Qian), the ancestor of Taizhou cultural celebrities. In the square in front of the Cultural Palace, there are lighted stadiums and runways. Villagers come here to carry out cultural and entertainment activities after work. For the people of Gaojian Village, the boat was slow to turn around when it came to economic development. In the past, it was a famous bad boat in Sanmen County. No matter how hard the villagers work on several acres of farmland, they can't get rid of poverty. Since the 1980s, the party branch and village committee have made full use of the geographical advantages of the intersection of Hangzhou-Wenzhou and Yongwen-Wenzhou highways, leading the villagers to boldly embark on the path of economic development combining industry and trade, and vigorously develop village-run and household-run enterprises. , to develop an industrial community covering an area of more than 20 acres. Some villagers who used to work abroad for business also returned to their hometowns to set up businesses. For a time, skilled craftsmen gathered, and joint enterprises and family factories sprung up like mushrooms after a rain. Sanmen County Socks Factory, a village collective enterprise, has tied up with scientific research institutions to carry out technological transformation. The cotton gauze socks it produces are exported to Japan, Germany and France. The rail rubber gaskets produced by Lianhu Enterprise County Jingmei Rubber Factory are sold all over the country, with an annual output value of more than 1 million yuan. The craft wax figures produced by Gaojian Arts and Crafts Factory are based on celebrities and mythological figures from past dynasties in China. They are lifelike, exquisite and elegant. They have "settled down" in museums in more than 20 provinces, cities and autonomous regions across the country, and have also "settled" in Thailand. Under the influence of Party branch secretary Zheng Shixuan and village chief Zheng Youcheng, everyone in the party branch and village committee took the lead in doing business and setting up factories, truly playing a leading role in economic development. By the end of 1992, there were 8 village collective enterprises and 108 individual enterprises, with an annual output value of 8.04 million yuan and village collective income of 140,000 yuan.
The village-level economy gradually develops and expands, and more and more public welfare undertakings are provided for the people. The village invested in the construction of more than 4,000 meters of mechanized farming roads, more than 3,000 meters of flood control dams, laid 800 meters of cement pavement, built 5 new water turning stations, installed tap water; invested more than 10,000 yuan in purchasing fire-fighting equipment, and established Volunteer fire brigade; invested 10,000 yuan to install a TV station; set up theaters and kindergartens, and school-age children were admitted free of charge. In 1992, 120,000 yuan was invested to build a new middle school building. The village invested more than 10,000 yuan to build a new sewage channel around the village and promoted three-format sanitary household toilets. The village has also formulated a series of preferential policies for building nests to attract birds to develop the economy, which has attracted many people to Gaojian, a geomantic treasure land, and they have come to invest and set up factories. The Sanmen Transportation Equipment Factory and the Sanmen Yingchun Electrical and Hardware Factory opened in Gaojian Village each had an annual output value of more than 2 million yuan. In 1992, they both became the leading enterprises in Gaojian Township. The village also decided to open up 4 square kilometers of Fang Xiayang land next to the provincial road to the outside world and open up a new industrial community.
In the past, the villagers relied on dried sweet potatoes as their staple food, and it was rare to have a few meals of pure rice a year. Nowadays, most of the food we eat is rice and flour, and dried sweet potatoes are mostly used as feed for pigs. Since 1978, more than 700 brick-concrete buildings have been built. In recent years, most of the four-story buildings have been built, with an average room area of 18 square meters per person. Daily necessities are developing towards mid-to-high-end and electrical appliances. Televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, rice cookers, gas stoves, etc. have entered the homes of villagers.
Gaojian Village has taken off its backward label of rotten shipbuilding and has become a wealthy village and a provincial-level civilized village. Duobaojiao Temple, located in the east of the village, was formerly known as Longxiangyuan. It was built by Master Tanyou, an eminent monk in the Jin Dynasty. Its former site was in the Houzhou Dynasty of Xiangshan Mountain. Later, due to the danger and remoteness of Yushiyuan, Zheng Zudi Gonglang, Jinshi Hu Xi and Chen Xun donated money and rebuilt it at the current site. Duobao Temple is surrounded by mountains on three sides and faces water on one side. It is covered with pines and cypresses and shaded by beautiful bamboos. It has beautiful scenery and quiet environment. In the old days, there were so many people wearing clothes, and the sound of bells could be heard for 20 miles. During the Cultural Revolution, the temple was damaged and became the site of Gaojian Middle School after 1968.
In 1985, the villagers, Master Qingding, who is now a director of the Chinese Buddhist Society, a member of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and the abbot of Zhaojue Temple in Chengdu, funded the renovation of the Main Hall of Duobao Temple and restored the original appearance of the historic site. Zhao Puchu, president of the Buddhist Society of China, inscribed two plaques on Duobao Lecture Temple and Daxiong Hall for the temple, adding luster to the ancient temple. In 1992, Master Qingding donated another 400,000 yuan to build a new teaching building for Gaojian Middle School. In the same year, the summer middle school moved into the new building and returned all the buildings within the temple to Duobao Temple. Master Qingding, whose common name is Zheng Quanshan. There are three brothers in the family, all of whom were former major generals of the Kuomintang; his three daughters are all professors. The eldest daughter, Zheng Jinde, is a former professor and executive vice president of Shanghai University of Technology and is currently the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. Master Qingding planned to expand Duobao Temple into a temple of a certain scale, appointed Master Zhimin and other seven monks to be responsible for the construction of Duobao Temple, and established a Duobao Temple Construction Committee. We also donated 3 shell-carved jade Buddhas and a statue of Sakyamuni Buddha imported from Myanmar. The largest one is 2.5 meters high, weighs 4.5 tons, and is worth more than one million yuan. It is a rare giant jade Buddha in China. The consecration ceremony of the Buddha statue was held on September 26, 1992. The village allocated 100 acres of forest land to the temple. The People's Government of Gaojian Township has also regarded the construction of Duobao Temple and the development of Fangxiayang Industrial Zone and bazaar as key construction projects in the township. Connect Duobao Temple with Guoqing Temple in Tiantai Mountain, Xinchang Buddha Temple, Putuo Mountain and other tourist resorts, develop the tourism industry of the three gates, and promote the industrial development of Gaojian Village.
