Protective railings: making the airport safer

When the height difference is greater than 0: 6m, protective railings must be set in adjacent areas such as balconies, verandahs, indoor cloisters, inner patios, main roofs and outdoor stairs. These railings need to meet the following requirements to ensure people's safety.

Strong and durable material

The railing material must be durable and can bear the specified horizontal load. Only in this way can the stability and safety of the railing be guaranteed.

Height requirement

The railing height should not be less than1.05m. For high-rise buildings, the railing height needs to be further increased, but it should not exceed1.20m. Only in this way can people be effectively prevented from falling from a height.

Lower edge distance requirement

The distance between the lower edge of the railing and the ground or roof shall not be less than 0. 10m, and there shall be no gap within this range. This will prevent people from passing under the railing.

Child safety

If there are children's activities where the railing is located, the structure of the railing must not be easy to climb. Only in this way can we ensure the safety of children.
