The Historical Origin of Changbai Mountain

At the end of Jurassic and the beginning of Cretaceous, about10.40 billion years ago, the earth experienced great changes and strong crustal tectonic movements, which caused large-scale magma intrusion and volcanic eruption. This is a famous event in geology, which is called Alpine Movement internationally and Yanshan Movement at home. In Jurassic, Zouping area was a vast and flat lake. Affected by the Yanshan Movement, a strong earthquake occurred in zouping county and violent volcanic activity broke out. A large number of intermediate-basic volcanic materials erupted and accumulated into dozens of volcanic cones. Its scale is no less than the largest volcanic eruption in modern times. Geologists have preliminarily found out that the volcanic activity in Zouping area has experienced an evolution history of about 30 million years, and with three peaks of eruption activity, a composite crater with a diameter of more than 30 kilometers has been formed, which is rich in minerals. Its basic characteristics can be compared with some famous craters in the world, but it is rare in China.

After the Zouping crater was formed, it was split in half by a NW-trending fault called Zhoucun-Xiaozhen like a sharp axe and sank on the north side. Now it is buried under hundreds of meters thick loess, which is confirmed by satellite photos, aeromagnetic surveys and drilling data. The other half has been eroded for a long time, forming a unique volcanic landform and becoming a quiet and beautiful place. There are dozens of peaks, of which the main peak is Mohe Peak, also known as Mohu Peak. Although the altitude is only 824 meters, the relative height difference is 700 meters. Surrounded by Huixian Mountain, Baiyun Mountain, Chashan Mountain, Yuquan Mountain and Qinglong Mountain, it is magnificent. Looking from a distance, the Yellow River and Xiaoqing River are like two silver belts, which enter the Bohai Sea in the north and correspond to the Taishan Mountains in the south. If the weather is fine, you can vaguely see Jinan overlooking the mountains in the west, which feels like "other mountains are dwarfed under the sky." . Zouping, Zhangqiu and Zhoucun are located at the foot of the mountain, with terraced fields and reservoirs like mirrors, dense vegetation and trees in the mountains. According to old records, there are towers and temples on the mountain, and the rubble of the ruins can still be seen today. To its east is Jiong Lu Yu, with towering mountains and rugged roads, which makes people feel confused. Baiyun Mountain, located in the southeast of Mohe Peak, is the main peak in the east of Changbai Mountain, also known as Jade Emperor Peak. There are Jade Palace and Yuan Jun Temple on the mountain. There is a boatway valley on the cliff in the north of the mountain, which is said to be the place where boats are tied during the flood. Now, I quit, the stone branches are still there, and there is a garden spring halfway up the mountain. The spring water flows out of the hole, which is pale yellow and tastes cold and bitter. To the south of Baiyun Mountain is Chashan Mountain, with all kinds of rocks. Dongling Xiaoyue, one of the eight scenic spots in Zhangqiu City, is here. Huixian Mountain is a big pit at an altitude of 690 meters, with the Eight Immortals Terrace at the top and dishuiya on the Shandong slope. Except in hot summer, it freezes all year round, and looks like a silver chain hanging on the stone wall from a distance. Huixian Mountain is connected to Qinglong Mountain in the nine realms in the north, and there is Jiu Feng in * * *; To the west is Nha Trang Lake. Looking around, mountains and lakes are picturesque. There is a Tang Kunling on the northern slope of Changbai Mountain, and there is a Liquan on the ridge, which is the place where Fan Zhongyan, a poet of the Song Dynasty, studied hard when he was a teenager. In memory of this great writer, later generations built a temple next to Liquan, named Liquan Temple. Although the temple was destroyed, the Song stele still exists (2.5m high, 1. 1m wide and 0.3m thick). In addition, Mount Yintai, Mount Huangshan, Yuzhi and other peaks also present various shapes, some of which are horseshoe-shaped and concave in the middle, some of which are like Optimus Prime and a sword, or lofty and lonely people, or straight into the sky, but they are essentially volcanic cones of the same gene type. After some intense activities, they sleep peacefully. If you can see this volcanic landscape at a glance, it is really unique.

During the geological history, Changbai Mountain stood tall after tens of millions of years of volcanic activity, and in the following 100 million years, nature skillfully dressed it up more charming. Zhangqiu City, located at the southern foot of Changbai Mountain, was founded in Sui Dynasty. The water of Baimaiquan merged into a clear embroidered river like pearls, which constantly moistened this fertile soil and made Zhangqiu green onions and Mingshui fragrant rice famous all over the country. Today, Tancheng, east of Longshan Street, is the world-famous birthplace of Longshan culture with a history of more than 4,000 years. Chengziya ancient human site was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit in 1965. The Great Wall Ridge, bordering Changbai Mountain in the south, was built by the State of Qi for the State of Chu. It has been abandoned so far and can be seen everywhere.

Zouping county, located at the northern foot of Changbai Mountain, was established before the summer, and belonged to the kingdom of Zou Hou in the summer. Its wall was built as far back as the Song and Jin Dynasties and has a long history. In 6 1 1 year, the Wang Bo Uprising, which started the peasant uprising army at the end of Sui Dynasty, took place here. He was one of the initiators of overthrowing the rule of the Sui Dynasty. In the late Qing Dynasty, the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and the Boxer Rebellion also spread to Changbai Mountain, and people revolted in response.

During the hard years of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, Changbai Mountain was always the cradle of revolution. 1937 Comrade Ma Yaonan led the famous Changbai Mountain Uprising, and Changbai Mountain became an important base for communication between Luzhong and Bohai Plain.

Zhoucun, located at the eastern foot of Changbai Mountain, was a place where landlords and bureaucrats lived together in history. Zhoucunsu is famous for its rich silk at home and abroad, and now it has become one of the important silk production bases in China.
