Meteorological observations from Qinghai Provincial Meteorological Bureau

There are 54 meteorological stations of various types in the province, including 14 national climate observatories, 40 national meteorological observatories, 1 atmospheric background reference observatory, 1 animal husbandry meteorological experimental station, and sounding station 7. 45 meteorological stations are Category III or above severe weather stations, 31 stations are located above an altitude of 3,000 meters, and 9 stations are located above an altitude of 4,000 meters. Wudaoliang Meteorological Station is 4,612 meters above sea level, the second highest altitude weather station in the country; Tuotuohe Meteorological Station is 4,533 meters above sea level, the highest sounding station in the country; Waliguan Atmospheric Background Observatory is the only one in the hinterland of Eurasia The atmospheric background monitoring station is the first station for monitoring atmospheric composition in my country. Xining's new generation weather radar, built in 2003, plays an important role in disastrous weather monitoring, short-term weather forecasting and meteorological services in our province.
