Is it winter after the first frost?
The first frost is a transitional solar term from autumn to winter. At night, the ground radiates heat very quickly, and the temperature can suddenly drop below 0℃. Water vapor in the air directly condenses into ice needles on the ground or near-earth plants, and some become hexagonal frost flowers with white color and loose structure.
In the first frost season, the climate in southern China was mild. In the first frost period, the fields are lush, orange, yellow and green, autumn chrysanthemums are in full bloom, and hibiscus trees are in full bloom. However, the average temperature in the northeast, eastern Inner Mongolia and most parts of the northwest has been below 0℃, the soil has frozen, and the winter crops have stopped growing and entered the wintering period. In the southern valley of South China, frost can only be seen in the dead of winter. Even at the same latitude, the temperature and humidity of the air near the stratum are different due to the difference of altitude and topography, and the first frost period and frost day are also different.
The first frost is the last solar term in autumn and the beginning of the transition from autumn to winter. The lowest temperature can reach about zero degrees Celsius. In the first frost season, the temperature difference between day and night increases, so we should pay attention to adding clothes, especially to keep our feet and stomach warm. At the same time, we should strengthen physical exercise, prepare for the cold and prevent colds.
