Cycling to Jingxing Jiulian Cave and Guayun Mountain

Cycling to Jingxing Jiulian Cave, Guayun Mountain and mountain climbing

On the third day of the lunar calendar, the weather is fine, minus 6 degrees, and the breeze is level 2-3, suitable for cycling and mountain climbing. Plan to ride to Jiulian Cave and see the caves. Then go to Guayun Mountain, a total distance of 100 kilometers, with moderate intensity.

The cycling group sets off at 7 o'clock and arrives at Jiulian Cave at 10:30. Meet up with the self-driving group. After seeing the cave, go to Guayun Mountain. The cycling group will arrive before 13:00, and the self-driving group will arrive at 12:00. We started climbing the mountain after lunch and returned before 4 pm. The cycling group arrived home before 7 pm.

The itinerary was basically as expected. But Jiulian Cave is locked and cannot be entered. I played in the Yehe River under the Jiulian Cave for a while. The water of the Yehe River was crystal clear, the distant mountains were reflected in the river, and the pebbles on the river beach were very beautiful.

When I arrived at Guayun Mountain, I found a dirt road that could go up the mountain. The slope was very steep, but many cars could climb it. I originally planned to put the bicycle at the foot of the mountain, but my companion said that the mountain front road is on the east side of the mountain. The return trip is about 5 to 10 kilometers away without taking the road from the west side of the mountain. If so, you will have to carry your bike over the ridge.

The slope is similar to that of Qizheling (5.6 kilometers, 700 meters above sea level), which is the university graduation exam section of the amateur cycling community in Shijiazhuang. However, Qizheling is a cement road, while this is a dirt road, making it more difficult. If it weren’t for the purpose of showing my strength to my companions, I would never have ridden on such a slope.

The scenery on the mountain is good. The two mountaintops are connected by an arch bridge, surrounded by cliffs. There is also a cave worth seeing.

When we were going down the mountain, we had to go down to the east side of the mountain. There was no road on the navigation system. We saw an abandoned quarry and there was a wild road that could barely pass. It was very difficult to get down with the bicycle, but luckily we got down to the cement road safely. There was snow and ice on the concrete road, and the slope was very steep. I pushed the car carefully and walked for more than an hour before reaching the mountain front avenue. Although it was 5-10 kilometers closer than walking on the west slope, it seemed to take about the same time and effort.
