It's time to come to this Millennium ancient town hidden in Fujian!

When Wuzhen Xitang gradually became a commercial place,

When Lijiang, Phoenix, is synonymous with affairs,

The ancient town we are familiar with,

Seems to have lost their simplicity.

Xiao Jing found one for you this time.

A thousand-year-old town hidden in the depths of Fujian

It's time to travel.

Heping ancient town is located in the south of Shaowu, an important town in northern Fujian. It was founded in the Tang Dynasty and is one of the oldest ancient towns in Fujian Province.

Peace is called "peace" in ancient times, which means flat terrain and abundant grains. It is the first ancient town in Shaowu history and the only "castle-style ancient town" in Fujian.

Walking into the ancient town, more than 600 meters of ancient Qingshi Street and nearly 100 cobblestone alleys record the prosperity and vicissitudes of this Millennium ancient town.

The bridge building in Heping Ancient Town was built in A.D. 1588. The East Gate Bridge Building is a three-eaved, mountain-resting type, and the other three bridges are all double-eaved. Each floor is equipped with horns, and trees of all sizes are inserted obliquely, which is very spectacular.

There used to be four pagodas in the ancient town, one in the east, one in the west, one in the north and one in the south. Due to the vicissitudes of time, there are only two buildings left, one in the east and the other in the north, which have accompanied the ancient town of Heping for a hundred years.

The antique city gate ushered in many ancient towns, both happy and sad. The stupa has experienced many vicissitudes, leaving an intriguing history of the ancient town.

Heping Ancient Town retains complete ancient streets and lanes, and the whole ancient town area is connected with the north and south gates by an ancient bluestone street with a length of more than 600 meters.

During the Tang Tiancheng period, Heping Street was one of the distribution centers of commercial ports in northern Fujian. The middle of the street is paved with bluestone, with pebbles on both sides and shops along the street on both sides.

Such a complete and primitive ancient street still maintains its style and charm, which is rare in China, so this ancient street is also called "the first street in Fujian".

If you like slow life, come here. There is plenty of leisure and tranquility here, and there are no fans in the city. Walking in the streets, you seem to feel that every wall and tile is telling you that history.

There are many rich houses and valuable buildings in Heping ancient town, and the skills of brick carving and wood carving are exquisite. Brick carvings in Heping ancient town are not only numerous, but also ingenious, and each piece can be called an artistic treasure.

Walking is like being in the palace of art, where you can enjoy the exquisite brick carvings and feel the imprint of history.

Standing in front of Dr. Huang's house, I couldn't help being attracted by the rich, exquisite and magnificent brick carvings on the outer wall. The four brick carvings in front of the door are the main pictures, using rough freehand brushwork techniques, which are harmonious metaphors of "Longevity of Songhe", "Forever Prosperity", "Peace of Bamboo" and "Splendid Happiness".

"Doctor Li's Mansion" is located at the east gate of the ancient town 100 meters. It has a eight-character gatehouse with six columns, five rooms and a single house number, which is made of masonry structure.

There are three sets of step overhangs on the left and right sides of the gatehouse, which set off the upward trend of the top eaves. The whole gatehouse is magnificent. Brick arches with overhangs are stacked together in a gorgeous style. Brick carvings are rich in content, with stories of historical figures, various animals and plants and auspicious patterns.

A 20-meter-high pagoda stands on the lion-shaped mountain/0.5 km southeast of the ancient town. Pagoda is a mixed structure of brick, wood and stone, which is relatively rare in pagodas built in Ming Dynasty and is a precious material for studying the architectural art of ancient pagodas.

There are arched windows on all six sides of the pagoda, and the brick-carved Buddha statues in the niches have different shapes and vivid expressions, which have high artistic value.

The patterns of flowers and plants carved in brick on the top of the niche are exquisite, gorgeous and generous, which complement each other with the Buddha statue. What is more precious is that the name of the tower "Jukui Tower" was inscribed by Yuan Chonghuan. Jukui Tower's strokes are vigorous and powerful.

Peace Academy was founded in the late Tang Dynasty. It was founded in the hometown of Huangqiao, assistant minister of the Ministry of Industry in the late Tang Dynasty. According to legend, in the Tang Dynasty, Huang Qiao's father went from Henan to Shaowu as an official, and found that Taiping water was flowing westward, which was unusual, so he settled down in Taiping. His son really proved that peace and feng shui are good.
