Where is Zhao now?
Zhao's territory mainly includes southern Hebei Province, northern Henan Province, central Shanxi Province and northeast corner of Shaanxi Province.
The capital of Zhao was in Jinyang (now Taiyuan), moved to Zhongmou (now Hebi) in 425 BC, moved to Handan (now Hanshan District, Handan City, Hebei Province) in 386 BC, and established Handan as its capital for a century and a half.
The site of Zhao State is located in the southwest of Handan City, Hebei Province today. It consists of two parts, namely, North City and Wangcheng. The northern city is located in the urban area of Handan, with irregular shape. Located in the suburb of Handan, Wangcheng covers an area of 1 10,000 mu, which is the most complete preserved ancient city site in China.
