Raoyang County is located in the southeast of Hebei Province, on the bank of Hutuo River in the central Hebei Plain, 240 kilometers away from Beijing and Tianjin in the north, adjacent to Qin, Tang, and Cang Development Zones in the east, and 110 kilometers away from the provincial capital Shijiazhuang in the west. Raoyang County borders Suning County and Li County to the north, Anping County and Boye County to the west, Wuqiang County and Xian County to the east, and Shenzhou City to the south. It is 25 kilometers wide from east to west and 29 kilometers long from north to south, with a total area of ​​573 square kilometers.

Raoyang County has a warm temperate subhumid monsoon climate, with cold winters and little snowfall, springs with drought and sandstorms, summers with high temperatures and rainy weather, and autumns with sunny weather and moderate temperatures. The annual average temperature is 12.5℃, and the total annual precipitation is about 510 mm.

As of 2011, the vegetable sowing area in Raoyang County is 380,000 acres, of which 300,000 acres are facility vegetables, ranking among the top in the province. The county has built 8 pollution-free, green vegetable production bases and 8 melon and vegetable wholesale markets.

As of 2012, there were 13 dairy farming communities (farms) in Raoyang County, with 12,400 dairy cows on hand and an annual output of 21,000 tons of fresh milk. There are 126 Sige pig farms above designated size in the county, with a population of 192,800 pigs. There are 160 laying hen farms above designated size, with more than 4 million laying hens on hand all year round.
