By fate, by what fate?

Fellow practitioners who study Buddhism have a colloquial saying, "Follow fate". It is often said that fate is predestined. What kind of fate does it follow? It turns out that the word "karma" is enough to say "karma". The word karma is a profound term in Buddhist scriptures, but to explain the word karma, we should start from the practice of Buddha preaching under the bodhi tree. The Buddha saw the stars under the bodhi tree and proved the Tao. The Tao he proved is the' origin'. The theory of origin and extinction is' karma symbiosis'. When the Buddha was alive, the traditional religion in India was the doctrine of Brahmanism and Buddhism, saying that everything in the world was created by Brahma. As Catholicism and Christianity now say,' God created the world' (this is called theism). At the same time, there are also some anti-traditional Samoan groups, such as six heresies. They say that the laws of the universe are born by accident without reason (this is called contingency theory). The Buddha thinks neither of them is reasonable. He meditated under the bodhi tree and realized that the birth of various laws was not created by God, not by accident, but by "origin"-the combination of cause and effect. What is the origin? Agama's definition of origin is:' here, here, in this life, here, for no reason, here. It means that there are no independent things in the universe, but the birth and existence of many factors and conditions and their relationships. Everything depends on each other, supports each other and exists with each other. If some factors are lacking, this law will not be produced; After its birth, if certain factors and conditions change, the law itself will also change. But at first the Buddha became a monk because of the troubles of life, so the original meaning mainly refers to the flow of life. Therefore, the scripture says,' Well-known people know color, well-known people know color, there is this thing, there is no such thing, there is this thing in this life, and there is this thing in this life.' For example, the Buddhist sutra Za agama. 288 "said:' For example, three reeds stand on an open space and depend on each other, but they have to be erected. If one is removed, the other will not stand, and the other will not stand, but will stand. Well-known people know the color, and the name and color know each other, so it is. "Name and color are five aggregates, well-known and color, and well-known and color are our five aggregates. There are things here, there are things in this life', and knowledge and name are in harmony (body and spirit are in harmony), and they are born; The death of name and color means the death of knowledge, and the death of knowledge means the separation of five connotations (the separation of spirit and flesh). Life does not exist, life begins', not from birth, not from self-birth, not from birth, but from karma. This is the earliest definition of origin. The origin law is the natural law of the universe, not created or formulated by the Buddha, but the natural law. This natural law was realized by the Buddha. Therefore, zaahan. The scripture says:' The Buddha told the monks that the Dharma originated from people who were not created by me or others, and when they were born but not yet born, the Dharma world lived forever. When he realizes this method, he becomes a sense of justice and distinguishes, speaks, develops and displays it for all sentient beings. "The origin is the truth that the Buddha realized from the standpoint of the reincarnation of all beings. The origin of this cycle of sentient life and death is enough to say that it is' predestination, predestination of well-known colors, name and color entering six places, predestination of suffering, predestination of love, love, taking, taking, birth, old age, sadness, annoyance, and so on. Then, from the origin of the stream of life and death of all beings to the origin of the birth and death of all laws, the former is called' inner edge'; The latter is called "external origin". For example, the later Mahayana classic "Entering the Shurangama Sutra" said:' Buddha's words: great wisdom, there are two causes of all Buddhism, namely, the inner edge and the outer edge. Outer refers to a synthetic bottle made of clay balls, water, sticks, wheels, ropes and artificial edges, such as clay bowls, wisps, straw mats, seeds, buttermilk and notes, and the outer edge circulates back and forth; Insiders refer to ignorance, love, karma, etc. This is the inner source, but this is the difference between fools. "The internal origin in scripture refers to the origin of life cycle; External cause refers to the origin of the birth and death of all laws. I will talk about internal causes later, so let's discuss external causes first. The so-called external cause refers to the emergence, existence, variation and destruction of all material phenomena in the world. As I said before, there is everything in the universe, and there is nothing isolated. Everything is born and exists by fate and mutual treatment. For example, we can make pots, bowls and other pottery by mixing soil with water and adding tools such as sticks and wheels. We use yarn to weave cloth, straw to weave summer sleeping mat, and we need to add tools, labor and other related conditions. More specifically, we have seeds of melons or beans, but seeds are only one of the conditions of karma. Seeds must be buried in the soil, and with the help of sunshine, rain and dew, artificial factors, seeds can germinate and grow. Of course, if we remove weeds and fertilize, the seeds will sprout stronger. Therefore, the production of bean seedlings and vines by seeds is not a single factor, but depends on many other related factors. Among these many related factors and conditions, one is called cause, and the other is called fate. There is no reason, but nothing will happen and there will be no reason. Similarly, nothing will happen, for good reasons, and certain results will be achieved. Things that exist when karma is sufficient are called' karma'; And the principle that many factors and conditions give birth to things is' karma'-referred to as origin. There are two opposites in time and space between many factors and conditions. In time, there is a causal relationship; From the perspective of space, it has become an interdependent relationship. For example, a big tree, from time to time, the seeds used to be the cause, but now it has the fruit of the big tree; Spatially speaking, saplings grow by land, sunshine and rain and dew. And the land should be supported by the surrounding land, and the surrounding land should be supported by the surrounding land. On the other hand, the land certainly supports the tree, and the roots of the tree also protect the land and become the dependence of treatment. Therefore, the origin in a broad sense, the emergence, existence, variation and destruction of anything, as well as its dependence and causal relationship, can be said to span ten parties and run through three generations. There is nothing isolated in the universe, and there is nothing eternal. These relationships and changes can only arise, exist, mutate and perish under certain conditions. Therefore, the so-called "all laws are born of reason, and law is destroyed by reason", because reason is the main condition and reason is the secondary condition. It is said in the Wedge Sutra: The world is destined to get together, and the world is destined to get together. There is a reason to destroy the world, and there is also a reason to destroy the world. Moreover, everything in the world is immature-that is, when the elements and conditions are not available, we can't force it, we must force it, and we will be annoyed; When karma is mature, it comes naturally, and everything goes with the flow. For example, the apples on the tree are sour and astringent when they are not ripe, but when the melons are ripe, everything will be natural. Therefore, we who study Buddhism often say' karma', that is, follow karma and do nothing reluctantly. As the saying goes,' Man proposes, God disposes'. God disposes, indicating that karma is immature. Everything about cause and effect is sufficient and the result is inevitable. Because this result is called' karma'. Therefore, karma is also referred to as' karma' for short. Therefore, there are three methods of origin, that is, because of the cause of birth, things want to be decided, and there is nothing to stand for. Here, the explanation is as follows: 1. Causality: There are various laws in the world, each with its own cause and effect-the physical world has its own physical cause and effect, the life world has its own physiological cause and effect, and the role of spiritual knowledge has its own behavioral cause and effect. The consequence of behavior is' karma', and the cause of karma will be karma. Therefore, every fruit must have a cause, but there is a fruit without a cause, and there must be enough fruit. The Buddhist scripture says,' If you are robbed, you will not die, and your karma will be met. Second, things should be settled: every law has its own cause and effect, and there is a universal principle in this cause and effect. As you sow, you reap; as you sow, you reap; as you sow, you reap. But melon seeds can't give birth to bean seedlings, and bean seedlings can't give birth to melon vines. This is the principle. The same is true for good and evil. Third, there is nothing: any existing thing or principle must be established according to the nature of denying reality. The Buddhist scriptures say:' the origin is empty'. All existence is based on emptiness. We live in a relative world, so everything is relative rather than absolute. If there is the emergence and existence of karma and combination, there will naturally be the variation and destruction of karma. Young men and women fell in love, and after a period of contact, they finally got married. There are natural reasons and reasons for this. On the contrary, the couple made bad friends, quarreled constantly, didn't get along for long, and finally separated, which also had his reasons and reasons. Good friends are congenial and start a business in partnership, which has its own causes; When you have a successful career, you will doubt each other and eventually you will break up with your partner. So' there is a set of karma in the world', and by the same token,' there is a karma in the world that is doomed to die'. Everything is karma. Without karma, there would be no universe and life. Follow fate, that is, don't stick to yourself and stick to your own opinions. We get along with people, including family, relatives, neighbors and friends, even colleagues in the company and fellow practitioners in the Dojo. If we cling to ourselves and stick to our opinions everywhere, isn't that asking for trouble? The Buddhist scriptures say:' Follow all sentient beings'-following others is also a sign of respecting others. Conforming to all sentient beings and respecting others is also a way to form a good relationship. There are positive and negative sides; There are good karma and bad karma. In the course of our life, we will follow all beings and form good relations with people everywhere, and naturally there will be more favorable relations and less unfavorable relations; On the contrary, it is natural to have bad relations with people everywhere. Life science terms:' You are destined to be helped by a noble person' or' You are destined to be a villain'. The help of noble people is a good reason for us to have more lives, more robberies and more knots; Life-threatening villains are naturally bad luck in previous lives. We often say:' Follow the fate, follow the fate', and we must follow the fate and go against it. If I can only follow my fate, I will change my face. What is fate? If you can adapt to the unfavorable fate, the unfavorable fate can also be transformed into a favorable fate, and the evil fate can also be transformed into a good fate. A practitioner who develops bodhicitta in Mahayana Buddhism should practice six degrees. The third of the six degrees is tolerance-I mention paramita, so I hate it. Endurance is the heart that can endure, and humiliation is the realm that can endure. The most unbearable state in human feelings is insult. If humiliation can be tolerated, so can other situations. However, following karma is not drifting with the tide, nor is it in collusion with pollution. Practice should have the center and the Lord, not the fate, life should have the cause, and everything should not be forced. As for the discretion in the meantime, we still have to choose by our own wisdom.
