How to judge whether the weather system belongs to anticyclone rather than cyclone in high school geography?
Low pressure or cyclone, high pressure or anticyclone are different descriptions of the same weather system. Cyclone and anticyclone are descriptions of air flow in weather system. Low pressure and high pressure describe the atmospheric pressure state of weather system. Because there are obvious differences in air pressure and airflow between cyclone and anticyclone, the weather conditions in their control areas are also different.
anticyclone
Anti-cyclone is a large-scale air vortex occupying three-dimensional space. In the northern hemisphere, the airflow in the anticyclone area rotates clockwise from the center to the outside and counterclockwise in the southern hemisphere. In the weather map, the anticyclone is a high-pressure area where the isobar is closed and the pressure value decreases from the center to the outside, so it is also called high pressure. In the surface weather map, the range of anticyclone is represented by the outermost closed isobar. Its horizontal range is much larger than that of cyclone. When it is strong, it can often be compared with the whole continent or ocean, and small anticyclones are hundreds of kilometers. The intensity of anticyclone is expressed by the central pressure value. The higher the central air pressure, the stronger the anticyclone force. The air pressure at the surface anticyclone center is generally 1020 ~ 1030 hectopascals, and the air pressure at the center of the strongest anticyclone can reach 1080 hectopascals. The intensity of anticyclone changes with time. When the air pressure in the center of the anticyclone gradually increases with time, it is said that the anticyclone is "strengthened"; When the air pressure in the center of the anticyclone decreases with time, it is said that the anticyclone is "weakened". According to thermal conditions, anticyclones can be divided into cold anticyclones and warm anticyclones. Geographical location can be divided into temperate anticyclone and subtropical anticyclone.
The near-surface airflow of anticyclone radiates from the center to the periphery in the horizontal direction, and the air supplements from bottom to top in the vertical direction. In the process of sinking, the temperature rises, and the water vapor is not easy to condense, and the areas controlled by anticyclones are mostly sunny. In the vast areas of northern China, the "crisp autumn weather" that often appears in autumn is formed under the control of the anticyclone system.
Weather characteristics
Cyclone transit, low pressure control, rainy weather, typhoon disaster; Tropical cyclone
Anti-cyclone transit, high pressure control, sunny weather, crisp autumn, cold wave in winter and drought in summer.
