Luqifeng, the legend of immortality by the Leishui River
Luqifeng Forest Park is a shining pearl on the shore of Lishui. Three to five miles east of Lei City, there is a towering mountain with lush bamboo forests and greenery. It is called Luqi Peak. On the right side of the Main Hall is the even more magical "Bagua Well". According to legend, this well was created by Su Dande, a native of Chenxian County, who became an immortal and used his finger to tap it to form a well, hence the name "Su Xian Well". Luo Hongxian, a native of Leiyang who was the champion of the Ming Dynasty, rebuilt the well and inserted the Bagua into it. From then on, the well became the Bagua Well. The water in the Bagua Well is sweet and clear. The color of the well water changes due to the refraction of light, sometimes green, sometimes blue, sometimes red, sometimes goose yellow, sometimes bright and sometimes dark, like a dream, mysterious and unpredictable. Well water is rich in various minerals. According to folklore, it can cure all kinds of diseases, and the villagers call it "holy water".
Luo Hongxian was a famous person in Leiyang, and he was the number one scholar in the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. There are many folk legends about Luo Zhuangyuan in Leiyang. The number one scholar left his post and went to live in seclusion in Leiyang. The emperor was furious and said: Luo Hongxian has left Leiyang and he will never be the number one scholar.
