Basic introduction of Langzhong ancient city
Langzhong City, formerly known as Yuen Long, is located in the north of Sichuan Basin, in the middle reaches of Jialing River, with Bashan in the east and Jianmen in the west. It is the hub of Bashu and an important town in northern Sichuan with a total population of about 900,000.
There are at least three passages from Chengdu to Langzhong. The nearest one is from Chengdu to Deyang, passing through Zhongjiang, Santai, Yanting and nanbu county, with a total length of about 300 kilometers, but it is difficult to walk because of frequent road construction. The other is through Suining, Nanchong, Xichong and nanbu county, with a total length of about 330 kilometers. Chengdu-Nanchong is a 200-axiomatic expressway, and the rest are first-class highways. The third is from Mianyang to Jiange, and then from Jiange to Langzhong. The whole journey is about 300 kilometers, all of which is asphalt pavement, and it also passes through a section of Cuiyun Gallery, with beautiful scenery and fresh air along the way, which is a good choice.
In addition, from Guangyuan to Langzhong 130 km, passing through Cangxi County, it is easy to drive if there is no road construction on the way. Taking this road can form a loop of Jianmen Shudao tourist line and increase the fun of tourism.
Langzhong ancient city is located next to Langzhong New City and beside Jialing River. Known as one of the four ancient cities in China (the other three are Lijiang in Yunnan, Pingyao in Shanxi and Shexian in Anhui), it is the most well-preserved ancient city. It is a city that completely conforms to the astronomical geomantic theory of the Tang Dynasty, and is called the ancient geomantic city.
Indeed, as soon as you walk into the ancient city of Langzhong and see the square streets, neat bluestone roads and red lanterns hanging along the streets, you will have a feeling of entering history.
Perhaps the ancient city of Langzhong does not have the scenery of the south of the Yangtze River like a small bridge in Old Town of Lijiang, and it also lacks the charm of ethnic minorities. However, the ancient city of Langzhong shows its unique charm with its unique thick history, the broad mind of Jialing River and the characteristics of complete houses.
Walking into the ancient city, I saw dozens of long, short, fat, thin and curved streets in Catherine. Most of them are wooden buildings in Ming and Qing dynasties, and a few are buildings in Tang and Song dynasties. One by one, the quadrangles in Kyoto are connected in series into deep streets and lanes, just like Beijing Hutong.
Unfortunately, many old buildings have been demolished because of the new city, and because of the lack of unified planning and management in the ancient city, visitors who enter the ancient city will always feel sorry while enjoying it. For example, if the shops and restaurants in the ancient city can have a relatively uniform or retro decoration, divide the functions of streets, increase characteristic inns, especially transform the rivers along the Jialing River and sell some distinctive Sichuan specialties, I believe the ancient city can retain tourists. But the ancient city of Langzhong is still worth a visit.
After propaganda in recent years, the face of the ancient city of Langzhong has obviously changed, with more popularity, more tourists and richer commodities. In particular, the original buildings in the ancient city have been changed into tourist hotels, which makes tourists have more scenic spots and stay longer in the ancient city. However, many ancient buildings in the ancient city have set thresholds to collect tickets everywhere, including some buildings used as inns, which are too stingy and have the feeling of shutting tourists out. The rude attitude of individual waiters (such as Dujia Inn) is even more unacceptable to tourists.
Zhanghenghou Temple (also known as Zhangfei Temple)
Zhang Fei, named Yide, was a valiant soldier of Shu in the Three Kingdoms period. He patted his head as if looking for something in the three armed forces, and called Guan Yu an enemy of ten thousand people. After Zhang Fei's death, many Zhangfei Temple were built in various places to commemorate him, the most famous of which are Yunyang Zhangfei Temple (now relocated) on the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River and Langzhong Zhangfei Temple. Langzhong Zhangfei Temple, formerly known as Zhanghuan Hou Temple, was named Huanhou after its death. The whole temple covers an area of more than ten acres and consists of ancient buildings, Zhang Fei's tomb and back garden. The temple is located in the ancient city of Langzhong. Zhang Fei led his troops to guard Langzhong and was killed in Langzhong, so the Zhangfei Temple in Langzhong should be the most valuable of all the temples of Zhang Fei.
