What is the brilliance of Taoism?
The greatest advantage of Taoism is that it does not reject humanity, that is, it does not go against human feelings.
Before talking about this issue, we must first clarify a curse word. Since Lu Xun said, "People often hate monks, nuns, Muslims, and Christians, but not Taoists. Understand this He who understands most of China." I believe that many Taoists have read this sentence, but the following sentence "Reading history through this method, many problems can be easily solved." Later, I can understand China by reading "Tongjian". Humans are still cannibals, which is why this article was written. This kind of discovery is of great significance, but few people know about it." He said this because he wanted to prove that Taoism harmed China. Lu Xun praised Taoism. Although Lu Xun wrote sacrificial essays during the imperial examination years, he continued to criticize Taoism later on.
There are two kinds of people when Taoists promote this. One is to use Lu Xun’s reputation to promote Taoism and glorify themselves; , very few, the second type is just human nature! Everyone likes to hear nice words and doesn’t want to think about whether they are true. If you put aside the symbol of Taoist, you will find that the people around you are basically these two types, so some people will say that the Chinese are really bad! If you look around the world, you can see that most living beings are of these two types, and they are by no means the root of Chinese people’s bad nature.
Taoism inherits the thoughts of hundreds of schools of thought from pre-Qin philosophers, with Taoism as the mainstay. The glory of these scholars shines brightly to this day, and many of the results of their propaganda are still timeless! These are the essence of Taoism. From the perspective of Taoism, all things in heaven and earth are regarded as suckers. Humans are just naked insects between heaven and earth (human beings are called naked insects in "The Incompetent Son"). They are born naturally from heaven and earth, not created by gods! Although there is no restriction from the Creator, it is controlled by nature, such as environment (feng shui), genes (Yin De) and other things. However, many people do not understand that they are controlled by these things throughout their lives. Taoism advises people to look within for strength, just to let people feel these constraints and then find out their own laws. After understanding this Taoism, Taoism says that my destiny depends on me and not in heaven.
The same principle applies to things that go well and become mortals, and things that go against you will become immortals. However, many people have a wrong understanding of this saying. No matter whether things go well or against, whether in heaven or not, the essence of this passage is to say that there is no creator! There is no one who dictates everything, your destiny is in your own hands! It’s not that you can be whoever you want to be; it’s not that you can be whoever you believe you are. This is too subjective and idealistic. If viewed in terms of modern philosophy, Taoism has two worldviews: simple materialism and objective idealism, rather than subjective idealism.
On this basis, Taoism advocates understanding of human relationships! Instead of rebelling against human feelings, in ancient times there were novels such as Baojuan, Taoism, and "Journey to the West" ("Journey to the West" was written by Wu Cheng'en after the New Culture Movement, and most predecessors believed it was written by a Taoist priest.) and many other closely related novels. The purpose of the works about people's lives is not to be separated from human feelings, but it can help people understand human feelings, and then understand themselves, so that they can find strength within themselves.
