Warcraft 3 map editor model import

You can import a method by placing it anywhere:

When diving, I found a huge and detailed model import tutorial written by a big boss. It's a pity to post such a detailed tutorial. I want to help him forward it here.

The content is as follows:

Now there are more and more people who can't guide models ... I can only take out my baby!

Super invincible, wordy like the foot cloth of an old woman with a broken mouth, the most detailed fool tutorial in history! "(-_-isn't it too exaggerated? )

But I believe you will import the model after reading it.

Hello, everyone, this time I am a novice trigger to explain the problem of model import to you. First of all, I still want to thank Brother K for teaching me. (* The name is NICH). In order to thank him, I hereby write an import tutorial. I named this tutorial:

"Super invincible, like the foot-binding of an old woman with a broken mouth, the most detailed fool tutorial in history!" ( -_-! )

Specifically, model import can be divided into unit model, weapon model, effect skill model import and so on. A unit model is a Warcraft unit.

I will explain the process of importing the model in detail below.

First of all, talk about the import method of the tauren warrior model.

First, open the ZIP file of the tauren. You should see a folder named "Tauren Champion". As shown in the figure.

Drag this folder anywhere you like and open it. You will find a * * * with five files. We don't need two text files (readme files), so leave it alone. Text files are usually used to remind you of some information. What we need are three other documents. Their names are XXX. XXX BLP。 BLP and XXX. They are MDX. Among them, BLP file is skin file and MDX file is model file. The model you need to import should usually only use these two file types. (Weapon model files sometimes only have MDX files and no BLP files. ) as shown in the figure.

Ok, now open your World of Warcraft map editor, which is the World Editor.

Open it and click Import Manager (or press F 12).

The green arrow icon to the left of the red check mark is the import manager. (You can also enter by shortcut key, that is, press F 12. )

Now you will see the window of the Import Manager.

See the icon with the green arrow in the upper left corner? Click on it, and it will let you import files. Find the place where you just put the "tauren champion" folder, open the folder and import the three files we need. (2 BLP files and 1 MDX files. Your import manager should now look like this.

Note that the following places are very important. See an "overall path" behind the picture? Below the path is:

" war3mapimported\XXX.blp "

" war3mapimported\XXX.blp "

" war3mapimported\XXX.mdx "

Some paths here are wrong. You must correct them. Otherwise, your model will not be displayed. The path of the MDX file is correct and does not need to be changed. What you want to change is the path of these two BLP files. Please double-click the path of BLP, and a box will appear.

Click "Use Custom Path" and it will look like this.

Now you can modify the path. You should delete "war3mapimported".

Click OK.

Don't be happy, there is still a BLP file that has not been modified. Now you can change the path of another BLP file according to the steps I mentioned above.

You're halfway there. What you have to do now is to save this photo. Have you finished saving it? All right, close your world editor completely. Then open the World Editor. It's not that I'm sick, it's a necessary step. Because then the editor can recognize your model. )

Ok, find the picture you just saved and open it. Now please open the Module and click the Object Editor.

Just find a unit, such as a farmer. Click Farmers, and there is an "image model file" in the window on the right.

Double-click it, and then click Import. In this way, that is to say, you have replaced the model of Terran farmers with the model of Tauren. Ok, click OK. Then go back to the editor, click "Window", then click "New Panel", and then click "Units". Now the cell panel will appear on the right. Click on Terran "Farmer" and put it in the map. What did you find? Yes, Terran farmers have become our tauren. (Note that the number of files in the model is not specified, some are five, some are three and some are two. )

From what I have taught you, you will find that modifying the path is an important step. However, different model files will be placed in different files. What should I do if I encounter another situation? Then let me give you another example.

The folder name of the second model is "GoblinPraetorian"

Open this folder, and you will find that the locations of MDX files and BLP files in this model folder are different from those just now.

There is a "XXX.mdx" file and another folder named XXX in the main folder. This MDX file is in the same location as the MDX file in the first example, so its path is correct and needs no change. As shown in the figure.

Click on the "Fairy" folder, and there is a "blade master" folder. Click again, and finally we find the MDX and BLP files we need, a *** 5. Inside, you find that a * * * has two MDX files and three BLP files. This is different from the above example, in which the paths of MDX and BLP files must be changed. As shown in the figure.

Ok, now we are sure that we need six documents.

Let's open us as before. Open the import manager according to the program and import all MDX and BLP files. Your import manager should look like this. As shown in the figure.

Now, except the path of the first "XXX.mdx" file I mentioned, all the other five files need to be changed. (Remove the previous War3map Imported and replace it with a path, for example, the path in front of me is: gobblins \ blademaster \, and then replace War3map Imported with gobblins \ blademaster \).

Now close the door of your world and open it again. (-_-! )

Click "Module" and then click "Object Editor" to randomly select a unit, such as Terran Farmers. Then click Farmers, select "Image-Model File" in the right column and double-click. Then come out of the box.

The MDX file above is incomplete. You should change it to the one that does not change the path through the drop-down menu on the right.

OK, click OK, and then return to the map editor. Click "Window", "New Panel" and "Unit", which will appear.

Now, we have met our farmers just now. Ok, click and put it on the map. What do you see? A leprechaun with a broadsword? Congratulations, you made it.

We need to make a summary now.

Through these two examples, you should find that no matter where the BLP file is placed, the path will change. Sometimes the MDX file needs to be changed, and sometimes it doesn't.

There are two ways to change the BLP file. The first is the first example. When the BLP file is in the home folder, just delete "war3mapimported" from the path. The second is that the second example deleted "war3mapimported" and replaced it with the path of the folder.

When the MDX file has not been changed, as shown in the first example, it will not be changed when it is located in the home folder. When you change it, you will also delete "war3mapimported" and replace it with the path of its folder.

Ok, so much for model import. Hey, I'm exhausted. This time it is really XX long, and it can even be said that it is very verbose. However, if it is your first time to import the model, I think you will import the model file after reading this tutorial.

PS: I would like to remind you that what if two MDX files appear in the same folder? Then try one by one. Generally, a model will have at most two MDX files, which won't waste you too much time!

It's that simple!
