Basic knowledge of football field

Football is a simple sport with only 17 basic rules. FIFA's official football rules are standard rules all over the world and are adopted in all international competitions. In the United States, the rules of FIFA can be slightly changed in youth football matches and games held in schools. These changes may involve the size of the field, the size and weight of the football, the size of the goal, the number of substitutes allowed by the players and the duration of the game.

Game start

Start the game from the set ball in the center of the court. All servers must be on their own court. As long as the distance from the football to the opponent's half exceeds the circumference of the football, the game is considered to have been played. The kicker can't touch the ball again until other players touch it. After the goal is scored or at the beginning of the second half, the game starts again in the same way. You can score by shooting directly into the opponent's goal after kick-off.

Live ball and dead ball

As long as the ball completely crosses the sideline or goal line (whether on the ground or in the air), or the referee pauses or terminates the game, it is considered as an invalid dead ball. In addition, other balls belong to live balls, including the following situations.

● Rebound from goalposts, goal crossbeams or corner flagpoles to the competition field;

● Play from the referee or sideline referee on the playing field;

● During the referee's judgment on whether the player's behavior is foul (for example? Is the game in progress? Situation).

When the referee can't determine who touched the ball last before the ball ran out of the court, or temporarily suspend the game during the game (for example, a player was seriously injured), the game will continue from the last position of the ball by fighting for the ball. The referee threw the ball between the players of the two teams, and the game could not start until the ball touched the ground.

When the ball runs out of the court from the sideline, whether from the air or from the ground, it is thrown back to the field where it left the court to continue the game by throwing the foul ball. The foul ball was thrown by a player who was not the last to touch the ball. The thrower must hold the ball with both hands, put the ball behind his back, and then throw the ball over his head. At the moment of throwing the ball, the thrower must face the court, with his feet touching the sideline or on the ground outside the sideline. As soon as the ball crosses the sideline and enters the playing field, the game will begin immediately. The thrower can't touch the ball again until other players touch it. If you can't throw the ball back to the playing field correctly, it's the other team's turn to throw the foul ball. Throw a foul ball and score directly.

If the attacker finally touches the ball that crosses the goal line (except the ball that passes between the goal posts and under the goal crossbar), the defender will continue to resume the game by kicking the goal. When the ball crosses the goal line, the kick-off must be made from the nearest goal area. As long as the ball crosses the restricted area, it is considered that the game is in progress. The footballer can't touch the ball until the player of his team or opponent touches it. You can't kick the ball directly to the goalkeeper in the penalty area. At the kick-off, all players of the opposing team must stand outside the penalty area. The goal scored a direct goal without a goal.

If the defender finally touches the ball that crosses the goal line (except the ball that passes between the goal posts and under the goal crossbar), the attacker will continue to resume the game by kicking the ball. Corner kicks must be played in the corner area closest to the goal line. Before the ball is kicked out, all members of the defense team must be at least 10 yards away from the ball. The server can't touch the ball again until other players touch it. Corner kicks can be scored directly.

score

As long as the football completely crosses the goal line between the goal posts and under the goal crossbar, it is considered as a goal score, but the premise is that the ball is not deliberately thrown, taken or pushed into the goal by the attacking players with their hands or arms. 65438 +0 points for each goal. The team with the highest score wins the game. If both sides score the same score within the specified time, it will be regarded as a draw.

Fouls and penalties

The referee appointed as the referee of the game has the highest authority on the court. Referees enforce the rules of the game and make decisions on disputes. The referee is assisted by two assistant referees, who are located on both sides of the sideline. The assistant referee signals when the ball is out of bounds (subject to the referee's decision) and decides which team will throw the foul ball, goal kick or corner kick. The assistant referee will also help the referee determine whether there is an offside foul and inform the referee that a substitute player is coming in.

Players must know the situation of the foul and the possible punishment. The untimely punishment is a great blow to the team, which will lead to the loss of motivation, the loss of personnel and even the goal of the opposing team. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the following fouls and penalties, and what can be done to avoid these fouls during the game.

offside

All players should be familiar with offside. In a game, if a player is closer to the opponent's goal line than the ball, it constitutes offside, except for the following circumstances:

● Players are located in their own fields;

● At least two players of the opposing team are closer to the goal line of the opposing team than that player.

Just because a player is offside doesn't mean the referee will call him offside. Only when one's own player touches or controls the ball, and the referee judges that the player in offside position interferes with the game or opponent, or gains an advantage through offside, will the player be judged offside and punished. Players will not be judged offside just because they are offside or receive a goal kick, corner kick or foul ball directly.

The penalty for offside foul is an indirect free kick from the offside position by the opposing player. The referee only judges offside when playing the ball, and does not judge offside at the moment when the player catches the ball (see Figure 2). For example, a player who is in a non-offside position moves forward to an offside position and receives a pass from the air, which will not constitute an offside foul.

(of football) a free kick.

Free kicks are divided into direct free kicks and indirect free kicks. The kicker can score a goal with a direct free kick. In order to get an indirect free kick, before the ball crosses the goal, it must be contacted by other players (players of any team) except the kicker. Whether it is a direct free kick or an indirect free kick, the defender must be at least 10 yards away from the ball. The only time a defender can be within 10 yards of the ball is to award an indirect free kick to the attacker, which is less than 10 yards from the defender's goal. In this case, the defender can stand on the goal line between the goal posts to prevent the opponent's ball from entering the goal.

When a player serves a free kick from his own service area, all the players of the opposing team must be outside the penalty area, and the distance from the ball should not be less than 10 yards. When playing football, you must be at rest. When the distance of the ball crossing the restricted area exceeds the circumference of the ball, it is considered that the ball is in the game. The goalkeeper can't catch the ball with both hands before kicking it to the court. If the ball fails to kick out of the restricted area and enter the game directly, it must be kicked off again. If the kicker touches the ball again before other players touch it, an indirect free kick is awarded to the opponent.

Fouls and bad behavior

Fouls include direct fouls and indirect fouls. For players who intentionally commit the following fouls, the opposing team will get a direct free kick at the place where the foul occurred:

● Spit at your opponent;

● Kicking or trying to kick an opponent;

● Tripping your opponent;

● Crash an opponent in a violent or dangerous way;

● Hit the opponent from behind, except that the opponent blocks the player from approaching the ball;

● Hit or attempt to hit an opponent;

● Hold the opponent;

● Push the opponent;

● Holding the ball, hitting the ball or pushing the ball with hands or arms (this foul does not apply to the goalkeeper in the restricted area).

If the defender intentionally interferes with the direct free kick in the penalty area, the opposing team will be awarded a penalty. Violation of the following rules will result in an indirect free kick:

● Playing football in a way that the referee thinks may cause danger to attacking players or other players, also known as? Dangerous kick? ;

● Shoulder collision with the opponent when the ball is not within the control distance of the player involved (it is legal to shoulder collision when trying to control the ball);

● deliberately obstructing the opponent's progress without trying to control the ball, usually called? Obstruct your opponent? ;

● Deliberately obstructing the goalkeeper from serving;

● Violation of offside rules;

● Playing the goalkeeper, except when the goalkeeper holds the ball or is outside the goal area.

If the goalkeeper has one of the following behaviors, an indirect free kick is awarded to the attacking team:

● Violate the 6-second rule and ask the goalkeeper to return the ball to the court within 6 seconds when holding the ball;

● Arbitrarily executing the tactics judged by the referee, wasting time, delaying the game, and giving the goalkeeper an unfair advantage;

● Violation of the goalkeeper's return rules.

Goalkeeper's return rule

According to the rules of football, the goalkeeper can't touch the ball that the player deliberately kicked him with his hand. This rule only works if you pass the ball with your feet on purpose. For example, the tentacles caused by the deviation of the ball are not punished. Violation of the goalkeeper's return rule will result in an indirect free kick awarded to the opponent at the foul place.

Players can deliberately pass the ball to the goalkeeper with their heads, chests or knees. However, if a player deliberately circumvents the goalkeeper's return rules (such as picking up the ball with his foot and giving it to the goalkeeper with his head), then the player's behavior is not in line with the sportsmanship and will be formally warned. In this case, the opposing team will be awarded an indirect free kick at the foul place.

Warning and punishment

How to punish players who continue to blatantly violate the rules of the game is up to the referee. The referee can show a yellow card to formally warn the players. The yellow card warning sends a message to the players who break the rules: if they continue to violate similar rules, they will be sent off. The referee can show a red card and send off the player who fouled. According to the referee's decision, a player will be sent off with a red card if he commits the following acts:

● Rough behavior has been carried out;

● Serious violation of the rules of the game;

● Spit at the opposing player or anyone else;

● Use insulting or filthy language;

● The same game was warned twice;

● Deliberately manipulating the football, resulting in the opponent's failure to score or missing the obvious goal opportunity (but this does not apply to the goalkeeper in his own restricted area);

● The opposing player who walked to the goal missed the obvious goal opportunity because of the foul that can be punished by free kick or penalty kick.

The player sent off by the red card can't go to back in the game, or even fill the vacancy with a substitute.

make a penalty shot

Besides the red card, the most serious penalty for direct foul is penalty. If a player commits a serious foul in his own restricted area, he will be awarded a penalty (note: the penalty is not affected by the position of the ball). Right in front of the goal midpoint, 12 yards will be fined. All players except the kicker and goalkeeper must be outside the penalty area and at least 10 yards away from the penalty area. The goalkeeper must stand between the goalposts and touch the goal line with his feet. The goalkeeper can move sideways along the goal line before serving, but he can't cross the goal line forward before serving.

The player who kicks the penalty must kick the ball forward, and can't touch the ball again until other players (including the goalkeeper) touch it. When the ball moves beyond its circumference, it is in the game. You can score directly from the penalty. Overtime is needed after halftime or the specified game time, so that the penalty can be completed.
