Waterway Waterway:

Poyang Lake is the only waterway that entered Jiangxi from the north in ancient times. Hukou is the main gateway of Poyang Lake Waterway and Yangtze River Waterway. The waterway from Poyang Lake to the Yangtze River is 65km long and 3 ~ 14km wide. The east-west waterway in the lake area is the artery of Poyang Lake waterway, and Wucheng-Hukou is a third-class waterway, which can be navigable all the year round 1000-ton ships. There is a 1.6 km port road to the north of Nanshan, which leads to Duchang Town Wharf.

After the confluence of Ganjiang River and Hexiu River, the western waterway of Poyang Lake is formed, leading to the northeast hukou. It is believed that after the Zhangjia family in Ruihong Town, yugan county entered the lake, the great river in Jiangxi flowed 9 kilometers northwest, crossed Niutou Mountain and the northern part of Beikou Bay to Sanjiangkou, where it merged with the water of Fuhe River and the south branch of Jiangxi Province, hence the name Sanjiangkou. In autumn and winter, the Sanjiangkou is bare, which is the only way for yugan county to sail to Nanchang.

After Raohe River enters the lake in Yaoshan, Shuang Gang Town, Poyang County, the main channel flows southwest 1 1.6 km along Xuxi, north of Lianbei, and the right bank is a strip grass island with a width of 0.3~2 km. The east waterway of Poyang Lake flows from Longkou south to northwest 14km to the confluence of Piaoshan Mountain and Kangshan River, which is the main waterway for Poyang County to enter Poyang Lake and the Yangtze River.

Fuhe River in Beihu District flows eastward through Qinglan Lake and flows into Jinxi Lake at Sanyang Street in Jinxian County. The main channel flows from south to north and eastward to Dahukou. In the southeast of yugan county, Kangshan River is the inland river of Poyang Lake, which is a dry river with an average width of 400 meters and a general water depth of 5 meters. There are many lakes and silt beaches on both sides of the river, which are navigable all the way, and are the main waterways for yugan county to enter Poyang Lake and the Yangtze River.
