Generally, Huangshan is in the off-season from December 1st to February 28th, and there are discounts on cable car tickets. At the same time, there are few tourists in winter, and there are unique snow scenes and rime wonders, which are very suitable for landscape photography. In addition, the fog in Huangshan Mountain falls due to the cold in winter, and it is most likely to form a spectacular sea of clouds. But in winter, the traffic frequency in Huangshan decreases and the climbing road becomes more difficult. Some dangerous scenic spots such as Tiandu Peak and Xihai Grand Canyon will be closed.

How to distinguish Huangshan City from Huangshan Scenic Area
To explain the transportation in Huangshan, just the word "Huangshan" is very knowledgeable. The first is to distinguish three different "Huangshan" points:
Huangshan City (Tunxi District): Huangshan City, also known as Tunxi District, is where the train station, airport, and Tunxi long-distance bus station are located. It is more than 80 kilometers away from Huangshan Scenic Area and takes an hour and a half by car.
Huangshan Scenic Area (Tangkou): Strictly speaking, Huangshan Scenic Area is a large area with two gates in the north and south, and Tangkou is only the south gate of Huangshan Scenic Area. But more than 95% of tourists go up the mountain from Tangkou. So generally speaking, going to Huangshan Scenic Area is to go to Tangkou.
Tangkou Bus Station has long-distance buses to and from Hangzhou, Shanghai, Huangshan (Tunxi), Hongcun/Yixian and other places, but the frequency is much less than that of Tunxi Bus Station. Please check the time.
Tangkou is 6 kilometers away from Ciguang Pavilion (front mountain, Yuping Cableway) and 10 kilometers away from Yungu Temple (back mountain, Yungu Cableway).
Huangshan District (Huangshan District, Huangshan City): Huangshan District is 16 kilometers away from the north gate of Huangshan Mountain. Generally, when driving from Hubei, you have to pass here when going up the mountain from the north gate. It is 110 kilometers away from Huangshan City (Tunxi District).
