Santa Cruz has a temperate continental climate, which is cold and dry with strong winds. There is little rain, with an annual precipitation of less than 400 mm. It is located in the Bagotanian wilderness, close to the Atlantic coast, and has a long coastline. The temperature difference is large, with the average temperature in January ranging from 0 to 4°C and the average temperature in July ranging from 12 to 20°C. Precipitation decreases from west to east. The climate is cold in winter and hot in summer, and precipitation is scarce, concentrated in summer. Affected by the Falkland Cold Current, it is so desolate and dry.
