Introduction of Huangshi inkstone

Huangshi inkstone, once known as Gexiangong Rock and Fangcheng Stone, is a traditional handicraft of Han nationality. It was named after Huangshi Mountain, which was produced in Yanshanpu Village, Dushu Town, Fangcheng County, Nanyang City, Henan Province. Huangshishan was originally called Huangshishan because of the site where Zhang Liang worshipped his teacher Huang Shigong in the Han Dynasty. It is one of the five famous inkstones in China, and was highly praised by painters Mi Fei and Huang Tingjian in the Northern Song Dynasty. In 199, Mr. Qi Gong, honorary chairman of Chinese Calligraphers Association, spoke highly of Huangshi inkstone, and wrote "China Huangshi inkstone" by himself. "The daughter of Yanshanpu doesn't spin flowers, but everyone can grind inkstone tiles", which shows that the popularity of inkstone making at that time and the culture of inkstone making had a great influence on local humanities.
