wampee is endemic to Guizhou, mainly distributed at 26 1 ′ 45 ″-26 13 ′ 35 ″ north latitude and 16 58 ′ 2 ″-17 8 ′ 13 ″ east longitude. Its range is narrow, and it only occurs in Baxi, Jiangkou, Guizhou Province, Yunwu Mountain in Guiding and Baiqing Protection in Tongzi County.
The distribution range of this species belongs to the tropical climate of Central Asia, with an average annual temperature of 6-17℃, an average temperature of 3.1-5.1℃ in January, an average temperature of 15-27℃ in July, an average annual rainfall of 1142.9 mm, a frost-free period of 287 days, more foggy days and higher humidity. The soil is acidic yellow soil. Phellodendron amurense is native to the natural broad-leaved forest with well-preserved vegetation. According to the investigation, this species grows well with Chinese fir and Evodia rutaecarpa under the conditions of low terrain and high humidity.
