The Cultural Origin of Baihe Mountain in Qionglai
Behind the Hall of the Great Hero in the temple is the "reading desk", one of the eight scenic spots, which was built in Song Dynasty to commemorate Chang. The desk was rebuilt in the second year of Yongzheng (1724). Often a man, he used to be a provincial judge in Zhejiang and an official in Kaifeng. As an honest man, he was ostracized because he didn't agree with Cai Jing, was banished to his home, and lived in exile for more than 20 years. Later, he was posthumously awarded as a doctor of advice. In order to commemorate him, he built an advice reading desk. The statue of the reading desk has long been destroyed. Around 1980, a new statue of Wei Liaoweng, a great poet in the Southern Song Dynasty, was completed and opened to the outside world.
The Siming Building on the left side of the original First Mountain Gate of Helin Temple has been destroyed and rebuilt by 1989 on the left side of Daxiong Hall. You can have a panoramic view of the ancient city of Qionglai and the beautiful winding mountains and rivers in the southwest.
