Why did Yongzheng violate orthodoxy to build the Qing Xiling? Why didn't Qianlong want to be buried in Qing Xiling?

Without orthodoxy, Shunzhi began to build Dongling, and there was no provision for the Qing emperor to bury Dongling for orthodoxy. In addition, Yong Zhengdi and Yin Zhen don't want to be buried in Dongling, which is related to the water seepage in Dongling area. Besides, Yong Zhengdi may not really want to sleep with Emperor Kangxi.

In fact, at the beginning, the site of the mausoleum chosen by Yong Zhengdi and Yin Zhen was also located in Dongling, which is located in chao yang shan, Jiu Feng. However, it was not long before Yin Zhen directly denied the mausoleum site.

The reason for moving the tomb is recorded in the history of engineering: when Yong Zhengdi abolished the tomb site of chao yang shan, Jiu Feng, he clearly stated: "This place is close to Xiaoling and Jingling, which is in line with my original intention, and people who are proficient in Feng Shui have given more consideration to it. They think that although the scale is large, the shape is incomplete, and the cave is filled with sand and stones, it is really unusable."

This record is very clear. At first, Yong Zhengdi didn't intend to choose another mausoleum site. He was also going to find a piece of land behind him within the scope of the Qing Dongling, and chose chao yang shan, Jiu Feng of the Qing Dongling. However, during the field investigation, it was found that the local shape was incomplete, there were a lot of sand and gravel in the soil, and the water seepage was very heavy, which was not suitable for building a mausoleum.

Finally, Prince Andrew of Heshuoyi personally re-selected the mausoleum site and found Yongning Mountain in yi county. Huang Hongfa said that this place is "the area of Gankun Jumei, the cave is full of sand and water, and there is no beauty and no harvest. The situation is reasonable and all the blessings are reported." Yongzheng felt very satisfied and thought that Yongning Mountain was the land of Shangji, so he decided to build his own Tailing Mausoleum here to form the Qing Xiling Mausoleum.

In the process of choosing a tomb, the requirements for the soil quality of the underground palace where the coffin is placed are very strict, with "fine but not loose soil, oily but not dry, bright but not dark" as the best, and the soil should be weighed, with a bucket of soil weighing 67 kilograms as evil, 89 kilograms as auspicious and more than 10 kilograms as auspicious, so as to infer the compactness of the soil and the bearing capacity of the foundation.

Yongning Mountain, which was finally selected by Huang Hongfa and Gao Qizhuo, is the best place for geomantic omen. Compared with the Qing Dongling, the conditions of the Qing Xiling are really much better. Ancient emperors all wanted to choose a treasure trove of geomantic omen behind them. Naturally, the place with water seepage is not suitable for Jianling, and the sandy land in chao yang shan, Jiu Feng is also not suitable for building. It is also reasonable for Yong Zhengdi to choose another mausoleum.

However, some people have questioned that the Dongling Mausoleum in Qing Dynasty was particularly large, and it was not only Jiu Feng and chao yang shan that could build the imperial tomb. Even if it is not suitable here, it does not mean that there are no other feng shui treasures in Dongling District. Why did Yong Zhengdi choose Xiling instead of changing a place in Dongling? Obviously there are other reasons.

However, we can't say that, because facts have proved that Yong Zhengdi's consideration is very prescient. The Yuling in Qianlong is very expensive, and it took a lot of effort, but the result is still serious water seepage. Now Yuling is like an underground dragon palace. During the Daoguang period, Dongling had already built a mausoleum, but there was water seepage again, so it was moved and buried in Xiling.

Moreover, Yong Zhengdi initially did not intend to break the Zhao Mu system of "the son was buried with his father, and the ancestor inherited", because Yong Zhengdi originally wanted to choose Dongling as the mausoleum site, but gave up because of force majeure and chose Xiling. Although people now think that Yong Zhengdi was buried in Xiling, it is possible to avoid Dongling's father, but this was not necessarily the case at that time.

"The profit and Zunhua nearly all live together in Jifu, tied for China. Their land is not far away. " In people's eyes at that time, Yongning Mountain in yi county was not far from the Mausoleum of the Qing Dynasty, and it was also in accordance with the ancient law. Moreover, although the two places are in two opposite directions, they are 25 kilometers away from the Forbidden City/KLOC-0, and the error is very small.

Notes on Yongzheng Mansion: However, Xiaoling Mausoleum is hundreds of miles away from Jingling Mausoleum, and I can't bear it ... The land built by emperors in previous dynasties is more than a thousand miles away, and it is also two or three hundred miles near. The beauty of the earth's veins is related to the detailed development of fate. It used to be a land of thousands of miles. Since the beauty of one side is not unique.

To put it bluntly, Yong Zhengdi also felt that Yongning Mountain was a little far from Xiaoling and Jingling, but throughout the past dynasties, there were many tombs thousands of miles apart, such as those in the Tang Dynasty, which were basically not in a county, but were a little compact after the Ming Dynasty moved northward. Therefore, the distance between Xiling and Dongling is not too far.

For hundreds of years, there have been many sayings about Yong Zhengdi's "Jiao Zhao's accession to the throne", and the "father-avoiding theory" as the reason for the construction of the Qing tombs has also become an extension of Yong Zhengdi's Jiao Zhao's accession to the throne. But this statement has no exact basis, and most of it is groundless.

After Yong Zhengdi built the Qing Xiling Mausoleum, he presented his son with a difficult problem. If the son and father are buried together, the Qing Dongling Mausoleum may be abandoned from now on, leaving only his beloved grandfather and great-grandfather, but if not, it will be inappropriate. So Emperor Qianlong played a trick and changed Zhao Mu's system, naming Xiling as "Zhao" and Dongling as "Mu", and stipulated that children and grandchildren should be buried separately every other generation.

Although Emperor Qianlong was the son of Yong Zhengdi, he never liked his father's stern and sharp style. Instead, I took Emperor Kangxi as an example of my life. Emperor Qianlong was proud of being loved by Emperor Kangxi all his life. He refused to sleep with his father in Xiling, but was buried in Dongling. It is also reasonable, but the problem of water seepage in Dongling is most obvious in the underground palace of Qianlong Yuling, which makes people feel sad.
