How to install Chevrolet Cruze 1.8 timing belt
1. Remove the front cover of the timing belt.
2. Turn the crankshaft pulley along the engine rotation direction with a wrench until the mark is aligned with the top dead center position of the cylinder.
3. Remove the camshaft cover.
4. Prepare a special camshaft locking tool,No. EN-6340. If there is no special tool, mark it according to the method recorded in step 5. The right half of the locking tool EN-6340 has the letter "Right Right". Remove the two bolts of the locking tool and separate the left and right parts of the locking tool.
5. Insert the left and right sides of the locking fixture EN-6340 into the camshaft position actuator adjuster respectively.
note:
(1) During this process, the point mark on the adjuster of the intake camshaft position actuator is inconsistent with the groove on the left side of the locking tool EN-6340, but it must be slightly higher than the groove.
(2) The point mark on the adjuster of the exhaust camshaft position actuator must be consistent with the groove on the right side of the locking tool EN-6340 (No.2 in the above figure).
(3) If there is no locking tool, aim at the top dead center position of the crankshaft 1 cylinder, then mark the corresponding position of the camshaft position actuator with a marker pen and mark it on the timing belt.
6. Mark the timing belt along the engine rotation direction.
7. Use a hex wrench to apply tension to the timing belt tensioner, and install the lock pin 3 to make the belt tensioner lose tension. Remove the timing belt.
