What should you do to raise Feng Shui Arowana?
Daily observation of Feng Shui Arowana is very important. If you learn to observe daily, your dragon will have a certain health guarantee, and you can detect and solve problems in advance. So what do we need to observe?
We have summarized a set of observation methods based on many years of fish farming experience and feedback from aquarists. In daily fish farming life, we mainly need to observe the following four points: water quality, physical condition, mental state, food intake and feces of the arowana.
1. Observation of water quality. Intuitively, we can see the color and transparency of the water, and we can also smell the smell of the water. Further observation is to see if there are impurities and small bugs in the water. In terms of color and transparency, generally the best water quality is slightly yellowish and clear, but clear water quality does not mean it is absolutely good. In terms of smell and impurities, the normal smell is fishy, and normal water quality has few impurities and no insects.
Of course, in addition to the above basic observations, the most accurate judgment of water quality is through comprehensive testing of various indicators of the water body. We have previously introduced the specific indicators to be tested in special articles in this regard. In summary, we can comprehensively analyze the water quality through basic observations of water quality and other testing indicators of the water body to determine the quality of the water in the fish tank and the time and amount of water change required.
2. Observation of the fish body. By observing the body of the arowana, we can detect some superficial diseases or injuries of the fish early, so that we can treat them in time and minimize the damage to the fish. A healthy arowana is lively, neat, and brightly colored, while a sick arowana has a dull body color, does not eat or drink, and has abnormal swimming posture.
Aquarists need to observe whether there is damage to the body surface and surface mucosa of the arowana. Damage to the body surface is a sign of some diseases. Then observe whether there are symptoms of disease on the body surface of the arowana, such as white spots, water mold, standing scales, blisters and other common disease symptoms. If the belly of the arowana is drooping, it may be enteritis and needs timely treatment. If the surface of the arowana's eyeballs is covered with a white film, the arowana is suffering from blindfold disease and needs timely treatment.
3. Observation of the mental state of Arowana. The status and eating situation of the arowana can reflect the health of the fish. How to observe the mental state of Arowana? Arowanas in a good mental state swim freely; Arowanas in a poor mental state swim slowly or live alone. If during observation it is found that the swimming posture of the arowana is different, such as back swimming, body tilting to one side, head sinking, etc., it can be concluded that there is something abnormal about the arowana. It is necessary to promptly determine whether the arowana is sick or whether the water quality is up to standard, and handle it in a timely manner.
If it is found that the opening and closing of the gill cover of the arowana is weak or excessive, it means that it is difficult to breathe. If the arowana comes out of the water to breathe, it means that it is extremely difficult to breathe. The cause of this phenomenon is lack of oxygen in the water or the fish is sick. Corresponding measures should be taken in a timely manner depending on the situation. In addition, aquarists can also judge the mood of the fish by observing its eyes. Fish in good condition have clear eyes and can move flexibly; while fish in poor condition have dull and dull eyes. Then it is necessary to strengthen observation and management of fish with dull eyes.
4. Observation on the food intake and feces of Arowana. If you find that the arowana is not interested in the bait or stops eating when feeding, it means that there is something abnormal about the arowana. You should check it carefully to find out the reason and deal with it in time. The defecation habit of arowana is to defecate half an hour after eating, and the frequency of defecation depends on the number of times the fish is fed. We can judge whether there is any disease in the internal organs of the arowana by observing the color of its feces.
The normal feces of arowana is oval and granular, and the color is generally black, brown, brown. If you find that the feces is white or there is mopping, it may be a gastrointestinal problem or a problem in the body. There are parasites. If it is found that the arowana has yellow-green and loose feces and sinks to the bottom of the water, or it excretes foamy feces, it means that the arowana's own digestive system is abnormal, and it should be treated with the three old methods (warming, changing water, adding salt) or medication in time .
