Yanbei area refers to the area north of Yanmenguan, Shanxi Province.

Yanbei area is a geographical concept, and it is the name of the administrative division from 1970 to 1993. 1July, 993, this administrative division was abolished, and the counties under the jurisdiction of the former Yanbei area were placed under the jurisdiction of Datong City, Shanxi Province and Shuozhou City, Shanxi Province.
